I've thought that all along, it's too obvious, he keeps mentioning how much better we are than Newcastle. Something that someone on a wind up would do.

 

I don’t believe a word he has to say :


According to Motorsport.com Storey claimed that Rich Energy was backed by “four sterling billionaires” reportedly including West Ham Football Club owners David Sullivan and David Gold.

However, the actual worth of the business cannot be ascertained as no accounts for Rich Energy (or its parent company Lightning Volt) since 2017 according to the Sunderland Echo.

On July 24th, 2020 it has been widely reported that William Storey has launched a bid to purchase League One football club Sunderland.

According to Sky Sports News, Storey announced his intentions on Twitter, writing: “I am limited in what I can say due to NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement), but I can confirm that I have made a formal legal offer for SunderlandAFC.”

“I have significant funding from blue chip backers. Sunderland are a giant of English football & their fans deserve a team to reflect that stature,” Storey said.”

Why though? Why go to all that effort for his so called mate? Learning about our history, bigging the club and fanbase up, actually slating Newcastle which I'm sure Wraith definitely wouldn't want, constant tweets, interviews etc and the time it takes out of his days to do all this. I really don't get that it can be a wind up. I also don't know the reason why he's hovering around but for a simple wind up, it's above and beyond that for me and really can't be.

 

I'd guess that the likeliest explanation for Storey is that he's got wind that a takeover is on the cards, he genuinely wants the club but doesn't have the backing and is scrabbling around trying to raise interest from backers before the club is sold for peanuts, relatively.

 

He's an attention seeking PR whore, pretty much all there is to it imo. Why he's latched onto us is a bit weird as it won't get him that much limelight where we are now but I'm pretty sure all he's doing is getting his face into the media

 

Is this the first time he's mentioned that he is under NDA?

 

Aye I think it was, 7 months ago around the same time as his Twitter account was created

edit, that article is 7 months old but was updated in July so yes in July

 

If he is under a NDA he shouldn't be talking about a takeover full stop, which could mean he's talking a load of crap?

 

A few weeks back he hinted that he was no longer under an NDA as the deal was done. The bloke is a bellend!!

 

NDAs can have exclusions written into them as well. They're customisable.

Not saying I think he's telling the truth - just that he may have managed to build into the NDA an exclusion saying he could disclose certain amounts. No idea why Donald etc would agree to that though so its likely b*******s

Barnes saying doesn't believe anything is imminent due to current climate. But still believes it'll happen at some point.
