wtf happened on the last page @Wheatsheaf this forum is absolutely for posting and discussing Sunderland, and all viewpoints are accepted. But posting a single line of text without any context, is just asking for people to bite. You either know it is and want the bites, or you really need to start giving a bit more colour to your statements that are clearly going to be inflammatory during an intense period of rumour. Not expecting to give away your source, or even how you got the info - but post statements as fact without any attempt at backing them up or even giving context is just asking for people to react badly.
No. I said it was 100% not happening in the short term. I.e 3-4 months as hinted by prefab, smug, Magnus and you could even include NB’s into that. It’s getting close to Oct when we should expect a update and we all know my views on what will be said. Seems like a lot of Those who were getting overly excited about why they heard about the take over being close are starting to post different views now Very frustrating
Yeah. I was and am 100% positive (unless something dramatic happens with SD and he actually starts talking properly with someone - FPP), instead of jerking then around thinking he can make a go of this , positive and constructive talks aren’t ongoing which would lead to a credible sale of the club When the club make an announcement (they will have to address the social media rumours/Storey some point in the next few weeks), they’ll probably acknowledge the ‘made up rumour’ as fact, say because regarding covid things couldn’t happen or that the party they were in discussions with weren’t credible etc. They are still actively trying to work on a sale during these difficult period and will continue to back PP never the less Probably around 5/6th of Oct once the window has shut is my guess we’ll find out Going to be interesting to hear NB’s take on things
I agree he is a snidey prick and I want him out of SAFC at the earliest opportunity. However, he is clearly a huge football fan and if theirs one thing I took from STID 2 it's that he knew Ross was useless around the same time as the fans so maybe knows a little bit too. He's been an Oxford fan all his life and was involved in some capacity there as well, a club that has been circling the lower leagues for probably the majority of his life so he knows what it's like down there and how close these clubs are to going under at the best of times... Like I said, I don't like him but you don't have to like someone to maybe see that they could be good for the sport at this level in the current climate. And as for his motivations, they're probably geared as much if not more to not wanting to lose his beloved Oxford than to his 6% interest in Sunderland. I know that's how I'd be, money is only money, it comes and goes, SAFC on the other hand...
No offence marra but I think your sole intention is to spam the board. Plenty more like that. You make a statement then flim flam around. I've spotted it and so have loads others so when you get grief it's because of **** like this. Spam merchant, nowt more, nowt less.
Certainly right that the government should be nowhere near it. Most people are not interested in football at all, for all the hype it gets. It's only a few of us, maybe 10% (6.5m?) who are actively interested. It just cannot be right for the rest to be made to pay up for the likes of idiotic signings like Will Grigg, among a gazillion other examples
Barnes' big mistake was to suggest a timetable IMO,, whether he had been told one or not. The club is long past being trustworthy and he should have kept his story basic.
They'll have no choice if any number of clubs go into forced administration as mentioned in various news reports today.
Do ytou think Methvens comments today about bail outs are significant as I.. bearing in mind he did resign as a director
