Just when I was going to say lots of complimentary things about Pompey. No point now if you are not following the thread. I'll save my thoughts for another day when I am feeling warm and generous once more.
Don't be like that PL. We got you a gift to commemorate the anniversary and everything. We'd hate four it to go to waste.
I'll take my hat off to him, took him just over a year to that. I wouldn't have stepped foot on a skate board if it was the other way around.
Well frankly, I'm sick of Covid. And all of the ordinary, spontaneous things that for so long we took for granted. Like attending the local Christmas lights turn on after work, or going to a concert or going to show or deciding to buy a pretzel from Auntie Ann's because why not.. The NFL international series, cancelled. Comic Con, canceled. The Birmingham Christmas market, cancelled. expLOsIoN, cancelled. Bonfire night has probably been cancelled too as has Halloween. Or just deciding to go to a shop and not think, do I have my mask with me? It's like everything fun has been cancelled so what's left? Work, and what else? Even if there is another national lockdown, I'll still have to go into work as a keyworker. So I go to work, come home, go to sleep, wake up, go to work, repeat. Sigh.
I have real sympathy with this. It is the lack of spontaneity that I miss most. Everything has to be anticipated and planned. Strangely I don't miss going to the match as I have become really pissed off with football and especially the way its restart was pushed through to detract us from the mess this Government is making. I now see it as the opium of the masses as Marx would have said. It is all so shallow. The whole of football is so corrupt and has distorted our value systems. Can someone tell me how you justify a footballer earning as much in a week as twenty five nurses earn in a year? So we won yesterday and we beat Pompey 4 - 0 but in the grand scheme of things does it matter?
Does anything really matter? Who knows. Though it seems both my teams are crap this year. Yay, 2020. I miss the crowd sounds though, when they're real and not generated, it just adds so much to the match, especially in the NFL when it's 3rd down in the 4th quarter and the whole stadium is making as much noise as possible, the opposition QB gets flustered as he can't hear anything. Good times. But sorry about that post earlier, I'd been on the vodka and lemonades, normally I'm better at repressing my feelings.
Hey PL, you may be a skate, but don't FOURget we're here for you Joking aside mate, express yourself whenever you want and chat if you need to.
