Think it was Kittens and Ghost of Arca having a forum scrap with it depending into abuse when I went to sleep at 12.30ap
Methven is an odd one. Doesn't seem a likeable bloke going by some of his comments both public and otherwise, but I got the impression he was decent at what he did and felt he had a lot more of a clue than Donald (damning with faint praise I know!). I do agree that we ideally need them all gone mind. One thing I will say for methven is that I have reason to believe (and I reckon anyone hearing anything from the club will back me up on this) he is very, very keen for Donald to sell up and get out. Whether he wants to stay on with people who have more of a clue (and can thus improve the value of his 6%) or whether he needs the money and wants a sale to go through for that reason I'm not sure. He is definitely pushing for a sale though, which is a positive as far as I'm concerned.
I personally think him and Juan will try their upmost to hang about. They will be able to see the long term game and the club owes them nowt. why would they want to let go of that unless someone offers them daft money to go.
He’s apologised this morning for biting, wish I’d spectated but I was well akip by 11.30 just looked ghost banned he must’ve been the wrang un
Think the positive of methven is he is willing to acknowledge his errors and has a much thicker skin, which any owner will absolutely need, as long as the club is well funded and the people making decisions are accountable and capable then I don't care who personally owns us.
Hope Don and Meth have nowt to do with us in any way. Both a pair of pricks whose only intention was to flip us and cash in, they can **** right off. There is zero positive in any of this pair hanging around stinking the place out.
His comments about the north east and business really pissed me off. Apart from being egotistical and arrogant it’s also bollocks. The idea that a whole region doesn’t get business is idiotic. It also ****ed me off when he was politicising his work on STID 2. Again, arrogant, crass and out of order. And I don’t think his politics fits the history of our region. That said he does make more rational decisions it appears than Donald eg not commenting on Grigg On radio. If he stayed I’d want him to have much less power.
I don't want him near any football decisions if he was to stay on, and that stupid comment he made about the north east was just stupid and not defendable.
His comments showed him up to be the arrogant tosspot he is. The bloke has an out of this world superiority complex and managed to insult the entire region not just the fan base. I can't believe anyone would want him near the place in any capacity tbh.
wouldnt trust Methven one inch and don’t think he is as bright as the impression he gives Methven is an ex public school boy Their whole education is based on projecting an image They know lots of facts and they know the right words but in reality they only went to public school because their families are rich Most are educated way beyond their intelligence
I just can't get my head around it being Fuhrman on his own, if you read up on his back story, his achievements and his Fuhrman Family Foundation work, him and his missus are heavily involved philanthropists, giving loads of time ( and money) to non-profit organisations and charitable good causes. Their whole stated philosophy seems to be that they've had fantastically successful and profitable careers, and now they're 'giving back' to society, the arts, underpriveleged communities and basically building a huge charitable legacy in their names. Nothing about them suggests that he'd be interested in taking on a money-pit of a football club thousands of miles away, and devoting his time and energy to spending a number of years hoping to eke a profit out of SAFC. I can just about believe that FPP may have had an interest in our club, and it does seem that a number of US groups are investing in our footy clubs, so I'm holding on to the hope that we are still part of their plans. I do think that its getting very close to '**** or bust' time for Stewart Donald mind, and I wouldn't be surprised if he ****ed us over at the 11th hour. I have no ITK sources, and no evidence to back up anything, its all just personal opinion. After 50+ years of supporting SAFC, nothing comes as a surprise.
The first half of that suggests a very good reason why he actually might be interested in S.A.F.C. as a venture, Ian. How different people read things differently, eh
