Match Day Thread Vs Lincoln City (A)

tbf, we aren’t playing with a recognised CB at all. What could go wrong.

 

All went a bit meh in 2nd half but first half was pretty good .

 

Now 7 so it worked

 

Feel a bit for Lincoln. 7 is a bit unfair. Their keeper is terrible mind

Decent game played in a good spirit

 

Very impressed, second string now looks very strong.

Tsimikas was very good, so pleased if robertson is not playing we have this lad to step in. Will prove invaluable as the season wears on.

Curtis Jones looks better and better. He will have to show patience, but a number of our midfield will be moved on in a couple of years ,so I dont think he will have long to wait.

Taki is really very good.

Good game. Real drop in tempo when Virgil went off but still they took the game seriously. Jones is so cool and quietly confident I get the impression he hasn't even shown a fraction of what he's capable of. He's going to play some great games for us. Really wanted Elliott to score (and he nearly did) so we can say au revoir to his ponytail.

 

Don't mind his pony tail, the bumfluff inhabiting his face was a cause of some consternation .

 

Well that was an odd second half. Can’t be too critical given who was playing

Good performances by few fringe players today. Jones was good. Grujic looked very comfortable. Minamino took his goal well. Neco Williams looked lovely and Rhys Williams looked really comfortable on the ball and defended well.

 

I'm happy we sacked the cup off tbh...

Agreed on Jones. Already happy to have him start or feature ahead of Chamberlain, but he can't be far off beating Keita to a spot. Doesn't shy away at all

 

I think that game shows that we still lack strength in depth in defence. Lincoln opened us up a few times and with better finishing they might have got a couple more. We were caught half-asleep more than once by a quick free kick that got behind us, and they had men free in the box a few times but luckily it never reached them. The high line is very effective but dangerous and you need to be really sharp to pull it off.
Creativity was good, Mini-me is starting to function better and like everyone says Jones looks the real deal. Great to score so many, but their keeper really should have done better on several occasions.
