First of all i am delighted we won today.Second i am delighted we are 3rd.Third i am delighted Ba is scoring goals.Fourth i am delighted with gutierrez's great goal.Fifth i am delighted with Tim Krul.

But i am ****ing livid with the post match interview with Pardew.According to HIM we were lucky and Wolves were unlucky perhaps to not get 3 points.!
For ****'s sake when was the last time an opposing manager ever said we were unlucky? McLeish? No chance. Did Dalgleish say he was lucky today? Did he ****.

I just want once on a saturday evening to enjoy our result without hearing the words , lucky , fortunate , got the breaks , got the decisions , etc etc etc.

Fair point. Negative from Pardew. He's not used to doing well to be fair!

I disagree. I prefer our manager to be honest. We won by one goal and they had a perfectly good equaliser ruled out at the death and a cast iron penalty not given. By anybody's definition that has to mean that we were lucky to get the win.

The selective blindness of most of the other managers makes me cringe so I'm glad that ours doesn't seem inclined to do it.

I think he's just being honest, which whilst may not be what you want at all times is definitely a better trait than someone who constantly defends our performances despite not winning (cough, Fat Sam). Above all, it sounded like he was just continuing to balance expectations and not get carried away with our position in the league. If everyone thinks we're on a lucky hot streak then the true value and quality of our players is never realised and we can catch a lot of teams off guard this season!

And this is why people call us toon fans deluded. Look at you. Appalling.

Pardew was honest and it's the truth what he said. We were lucky. It should have been a penalty, and I don't think that ball was out of play either.

We scored 2 quick goals and got lazy. It wasn't a professional performance in the second half by our team. Pardew has aspirations and wants better from his team, good enough for me.

He's not exactly lying though. We were quite lucky as they probably should have had a penalty and I'm not convinced the ball even went out for their second.

Still, a win is a win and there's nowt anyone can do about it now. For all the bad luck and terrible decisions we've had over the years, its about time it went our way.

I'd be ****ing livid if I was a Wolves fan mind.

What's wrong with him saying that? It's not even negative. He's just telling the truth. He's repeating what people have said on here and what pundits will be saying. Fair play to him.

agree with this.there's nothing worse than wenger and his i didn't see it crap would rather have an honest manager, the thing i like is when we're **** or certain individuals are under performing he doesn't slate them in public like some managers do (melty face with bent as an example)

That's cause Dalglish and McCleish are a couple of ****s.

    Would prefer honesty.

It means Pardew realises we were under the cosh for a bit and can look at rectifying it rather than saying we dominated etc etc etc.

Can't believe how much stick Pardew is taking, I know where this will go if we start struggling.

I'm with you on this on DT, there's nothing worse than a Manager who is blinded by a win and does not give an honest acount of the game.

Great post Donkey - agree entirely! No-one who watched that match can tell me we didn't ride our luck! Decisions went our way and considering we were playing away we were very fortunate!

Either way 3 points and 3rd in the league - MAGIC!

Pard's got it spot on for me!!! We almost threw away a 2 goal lead or we should have bar some fortunate officiating by the linesman and the ref! I hope he had a bit of a dig at the players and lets them know they aren't untouchable, especially with Spurs coming up next week.

    Karma comes to mind lol

I think its decent of him to be honest, they were pretty much robbed today, first game I missed this season was really looking forward to it, but from what i can tell from others is we really should have buried them after the second goal, and just seemed to relax a little too much but hey 3 points is 3 points would rather we got batter for 90 minutes and come away with a win then batter a team for 90 mins and come away with a loss

What goes around comes around, at least Pardew's honest about stuff and seems a genuinely nice bloke (albeit one who I bet had the hairdryer out in that dressing room)

Also, people accuse him of being a "yes man" then forget he expressed his displeasure at Barton's release and the lack of a striker in no uncertain terms, and he's no stranger to controversy re: referees this season. I like the bloke, wish more managers had a sense of honesty.

Regardless of what Pardew said, I'm pleased for you lot. You are still the best bunch of supporters that we have come across this season and far better than any we came across last season. I bet you are still pinching yourselves to check that you are really third. That said, we beat Wolves 3- 0 !!!! :D

I think it was an intelligent move by Pardew to make the players up their games even more!
