NP obviously sees something in him as he's only just recovered from an injury.. let's see how McNaughton handles him..
Thought he was noticeably unfit, kept getting muscled off the ball, wasn't thinking sharp: slow to react and his decisions wernt the best. Showed some nice touches here and there but some bad ones too, other than setting up fryatt he didn't do a great deal. Although I think when he's fully fit there's plenty more to see of him.
Spent more time on the floor then on the ball but when he did have it he did some nice stuff, would like to see him start the next few and I reckon he will only get better.
I was a bit disappointed, he looked good in patches, but I expected him to look a bit better. He has been out injured for over a month and it was his first ever league game for us, so I think we should reserve judgement until we've seen a bit more of him. I think he was actually trying a bit too hard when the game first started and the tackle that got him a yellow was a shocker.
He was a bit hamstrung by the yellow though (was very deserved) - he was always going to have to go easy after that. I thought he looked pretty good considering...
definately agree that he looked rusty, but thought there was one or two bright moments to offer some hope when he gains some match fitness, would like to see him given the next 2 or 3 games, to give him a chance and keep koren in the middle.
Jurys still out for me. Thought he needs to bulk up a bit. He wasn't strong enough in shrugging off the tackles from their players, his first touch was poor and passing wasn't great. But he'll get more game time i should think, until Stewart or Cairney is back.
Amazing how football polarises opinions. I thought he was ok, did some decent stuff, clearly a thinking mans footballer as he played some really intelligent passes. Agreed he was stifled by the early yellow, as far as a debut goes, fairly promising NP seemed to rate him too in his post match analysis! His opinion is the only one that really matters
He is a footballer i like him. Was distinctly nervous to start but i thought he did ok. Was blowing second half. Lets not forget he was up against the second best RB in the league!!
I like him! Ive seen all his games for City(yes i know they have only been in the reserves and in the cup game) and i like what i see. He gives yet not just another body on the bench but he also gives other options of play. I like his enthusiasam that he wants to stay around and get get us back to the prem. Im hoping that Martin starts against Brighton, and we keep Robbie Koren in the centre where he should play. All he has to do is work on his match fitness and i hope that Martin will do well and stay a tiger for a while.
