    Mango works best in salads if its not too ripe, otherwise its too sweet. My Mrs always sends me down to Sainsbury's when I am back to feel up their mangoes - need to be rock hard still and then they are less sweet and have a slight sour kick to them which is great for a salad. Does lead to some strange looks in the fruit section though.

    A nice spicy mango chutney goes with most meats I find.

    Duck warmed up/fried to crispy perfection in a dry pan before putting on salad. Looks great, would have pomegranate over mango, but woudnt say no if served up to be at 2:30am after 12 pints of San Miguel

    <cheers>

    EDIT. Needs to be served on a pink plastic plate to get 10/10, at the moment it is a solid 9

    Not dinner admittedly but a little breakfast treat I had yesterday ... went into town to pick up prescriptions at 8am yesterday and popped in to Sainsbury's to pick up some brekkie stuff...

    Sainsbury's currently doing Finnebrogue "Naked Bacon" which is slightly more expensive... has no additives so you don't get that horrible white ****e oozing out when cooking ... coz it's slightly more expensive it tends to get reduced a lot and yesterday I picked up 4 packs of unsmoked back for £1.49 each ... one for brekky and 3 in the freezer ... it's really good and crisps up a treat under the grill.

    Anyway, yesterday's little treat ended up with a Sheldon's Lancashire Oven bottom muffin (very lightly toasted on sliced sides) 3 slices of the bacon, a slice of Cheese and a teaspoon of some beetroot and horseradish relish we were given as a gift (craft fair stuff) ...

    Was fookin' superb to be fair ...
