Individuals don't get any tax benefit on political donations, but limited companies do, so as long as the money came from Allamhouse, about a third of it would be free money (though it would obviously still cost him, not donating would be the only way it would cost him nothing).
It's his "gift" to the Conservatives. He will demand to rename them as Conserve, sell their headquarters, shut off one side of the House of Commons and charge people to vote.
Some people want to look up the story of Harold Needler's donation to City and the circumstances it was done in, the sky high tax rates under Labour. It was described as the best tax avoidance scheme ever. And how much of the money he got back due to being involved in companies supplying building materials and doing the construction work. He probably ended up in pocket. No one was cynical about his motives and the rewards. And, knowing the story, I still aren't. Just glad it gave City a boost and an enjoyable few years.
Harold Needler's gift to City was a bright move both for his company and the club, but backing both political parties over a relatively short time span (in my opinion) smacks of fickleness or trying to buy something
He isn't allowed to change his mind? Should always vote the same way his father did and his father before him...? Like in 'Ull...?
I had to look that one up "War is too important to be left to the generals" Hmm, I think he was wrong, battle of Cannae anyone? I still think Assam is trying to buy an honour

If you look at my total amount of posts over time it suggests you are indulging in hyperbole or you are a graduate of the Diane Abbott School Of Mathematics.
