    There should have been NO cup games this season they should have realised this could happen barmy really Spurs will probably pull out of the competition now or get a bye, and now i reckon this season is going to be kaput again. they let these people go to pubs and on planes but supporters are outside in a stadium so to speak, and with masks on that's all we need, or at least stream all the matches for clubs to make money. what the hell these players are doing god knows, 6 months on this should have been gone by now.

    What time of year do you get it done mate? Quite a few years ago I went to the doctor for something unconnected and he said as I was asthmatic I was in an at risk group and could have the jab free and basically forced me into having it there & then! But since then I've never bothered as I thought it was "just" the flu, but I damn well will this year.

    Just had mine done on Monday. I’m in an at risk group. Our local chemist does it without an appointment. Chester le Street for me.

    As @Whittylad says, if you’re in the at risk group, chemists will do it free or you can get it done at the gp. Me and the missus will be getting ours as soon as we can get in!!

    My partner is a doctor. I know for a fact, it's a legal obligation to record on a death certificate the legitimate cause of death for a patient (if known) else it results in serious consequences for the doctor. There's not been some conspiratorial leaning on doctors to record deaths under false pretences, if they've recorded someone passed from coronavirus, then they did. If the government have altered the figures for deaths, that's on them, but I'll not have doctors' integrity questioned as if they're just a collective hive mind doing the Ministers bidding when they're individual people with their own minds also affected by the goings on. I'd suggest doctors are more affected, much like care workers by the constant fear of being a carrier unbeknownst to them.

    Quite right.

    I find it quite offensive that people would accuse doctors of lying to protect the current government.

    Death certificates are sacrosanct.

    My brothers mother in law never had a symptom or test. Died in Sunderland hospital after 4 years of cancer. Death certificate says coronavirus . Explain that? No blood test, no swan test, nothing. No symptoms at any point in her lengthy hospital stay. Cause of death is coronavirus. I’ve seen the death certificate and I knew the woman.

    I couldn't even begin to explain because I don't know. All I know is how serious a death certificate is and the consequences of falsifying one. I highly doubt a doctor would write coronavirus if that wasn't the ultimate cause, but it is possible obviously. There's a chance that she was tested at some point whilst there, but I'm only speculating and that wouldn't be fair. Sorry for your loss.

    https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/1-2/6/section/4/data.pdf Perjury Act 1911 showing it's a criminal offence to falsify a death certificate.

    Have you had it done at pharmacy before and if so was there any difference in how it made you feel. I know it’s the same shot but I usually have mine done at the docs but 2 years ago I had it done in Sainsbury’s in Southport, came out after 10 mins feeling ok but later on felt like ****. I know it shouldn’t make a difference but had it done at docs last year and all was well. Docs for me from now on

    It's different depending on the vaccine as it's changed every year. Not sure how long it's been going but I've had 2 I can remember where I felt awful and the rest, other than an aching dead arm, have been fine. GP both times I felt awful. Had it done last 3 years at the pharmacy for convenience really and been no issue

    Had my flu jab on Monday. Check also if you can have a one off pneumonia vaccine at your GPs, Boots are charging £70 for it.

    I doubt anyone is actually lying to protect anyone really Smug. The pressure on the services in March and April , here and everywhere in Europe was extreme and decisions were taken in a hurry. I know for certain that Covid was cited when people when some dying from pre existing conditions, including one relative.

    No blame to anyone here IMO. This was probably due, as much as anything else to a desire to be seen as open. Stats mean only so much, are not really fully reliable, will be revised through time, and contain many differing meanings. India say, currently with about twelve times more known cases has only about twice the recorded fatalities of the UK. . Spain at one point went from over 200 a day to under 20 overnight due to a change in recording methods. In Germany, you have to die directly from covid to be included in the stats. And so on.. No one outside China , who kept quiet about this for an unknown time, had the heads up on this.

    Stay warm and well down there!!

    Not now they're not.

    You only have to look at the ONS stats weekly and the Coronavirus Act that tells us that a coroner no longer has to be involved in deciding the cause of death. People are dying, having this virus placed on their death certificate - even if they test negative for it. all it needs is a clinical diagnosis by a medical professional in hospital. no one checks if they get the diagnosis wrong.

    So deaths certificates once were sacrosanct - no longer.

    ONS -Coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths are those deaths registered in England and Wales in the stated week where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate. A doctor can certify the involvement of COVID-19 based on symptoms and clinical findings – a positive test result is not required.

    Its been well chronicled that coronavirus is being placed on the death certificate even when people test negative for it. See my link above.

    This virus must be the most overhyped in history. some interesting stats:

    UK population = 66796800
    Source = ONS - https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/populationandmigration/populationestimates

    Virus Deaths = 41862
    Source = NHS - https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/deaths

    % of UK population that has died with the virus on their death certificate - 0.0627%
    % of UK population that has not died with this virus = 99.9373%

    Virus Cases = 409729
    Source = NHS - https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/cases
    % of Uk population that has tested positive for this virus = 0.6134%
    % of UK population that has not had this virus = 99.3866%

    World Population = 7.813b
    Source = https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/

    People who have died on Planet Earth, with this virus on their death certificate = 982513
    Source = https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

    % of planet earth population that has died with the virus on their death certificate - 0.01257%
    % of planet earth population that has not died with this virus = 99.9843%

    In 1968/69 hong kong Flu claimed up at 4m lives - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong_flu - this isn't even on that scale. To compare this to the Spanish Flu is simply scaremongering and doesn't bear any sort of comparison

    and the coroner doesn't need to check - I thought you said that the death certificate was sacrosanct - not anymore. the death certificate can say what it wants too say and the coroner can be bypassed.
