    The rules are absolutely clear
    Non-fulfilment of Fixtures

5.1 A Club which is unable to fulfil its obligation to complete a Competition match in Round One to (and including) Round Four due to either:

5.1.1 that Club’s Player(s) having returned a positive CAT result and self-isolating in accordance with the action plan set out in the Return to Play/Return to Training Protocols resulting in the Club not having a sufficient number of Players to fulfil the fixture; or

5.1.2 any requirements or directions of the UK Government and/or by any public authority,

shall forfeit the fixture, pay the opposing Club’s expenses in accordance with Rule 5.8 and the opposing team shall receive a bye into the next round of the Competition

    rules-shmules.

you saw how rules are judged at the weekend. They are made to be broken-often if it can hurt spurs or favours the team in red:

''Discussions are ongoing over the implications of not holding the third-round match on Tuesday, with a further update to be provided in due course.''

You can be sure , if one of the media darlings was involved, they would have been awarded the tie yesterday

The rules were applied exactly to the letter in our match on Sunday

In some ways it would be in our interests if we agreed to play the match later and then the Chelsea match was moved to a date where they had fixture congestion too.....

He might have been referring to the Chelsea game, when Michael Oliverpool over ruled the on field referee and essentially told him to give a red card instead of a yellow. Correct decision or not, you can be sure Oliverpool would not have given the same recommendation if it was VVD tackling Werner. The very same Michael Oliverpool who (while on VAR duty) decided to cancel Harry Kane`s goal at Sheffield United in farcical fashion and who also failed to see the clearest penalty kick foul on Harry Kane at Bournemouth.

On another note, I bet we don`t see any on field referee failing to take the advice of their VAR colleague after watching the video evidence, it will be a case of firstly, not wanting to appear to be disagreeing, and secondly them thinking that because they have been asked to review the video, they must have made an error, even though refereeing decisions are a matter of opinion and differ from referee to referee.

Two games in, and Michael Oliverpool has influenced Pool results in a positive way in both games, both from on the pitch and off it.

Simple question: if it was Man Utd or Liverpool, do you think there would have been the same level of dawdling before making a decision?

Actually, I'll go one step further: if it was Everton, Newcastle or Leeds do you think they'd have dawdled until three hours before kickoff?

The latter is not going to happen.

My sympathies to the Os though (they are going to suffer horrendous
fixture congestion now due to this) .

I was referring to many rules being ignored when the ref wants to.
eg. Callum Wilson goal last week- Playing in a dangerous manner is any action that, while trying to play the ball, threatens injury to someone (including the player themself) and includes preventing a nearby opponent from playing the ball for fear of injury.
    Penalties for handball this weekend-
Except for the above offences, it is not an offence if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm:

    • directly from the player’s own head or body (including the foot)

David Moyes and two players tested positive tonight and I believe they were sent home from the London Stadium where they are playing Luton.

    This raises several questions.

    1. How can the game go ahead when the west ham players have been in contact with the manager and David Moyes?

    2. What (if anything) does it mean for Arsenal and Newcastle who they have played in the past 10 days?
