The next ACON will be in January 2022 and will coincide with the PL winter break which has also been talked about as returning in 2022. There won't be the same impact on the league with players going off to the ACON.
Ben White has been talked about but not sure if he's just re-signed. Also Klopp keeps mentioning Koumetio the young French lad who played the preseason games. He's going to be a great player and could be used sparingly for us this season.
I think that this will be the reality tbh....the kids will get their chance. Last year I berated the decision to not strengthen...how wrong was I. As much as I want more, whatever the club do, I have absolute confidence that we will be good.
Williams is a full back so won’t be playing CB anytime soon. More likely to be van de berg or koumetio although still seems a way off potential first team games.
On the Sancho business, according to the Mail, Uniturd are trying to get him for a knockdown £78m. Evidently Dortmund have seen their collective arse. IF true, you have to ask the question about the dividend that the Glazers are paying themselves that Astro referred to yesterday. Did you quote £65m? @astro Well if so... wow. I'm still arsed with FSG taking back their loan money for the new stand during these times, but in fairness, we are still buying what we can. This seems insane to me though on Uniturd's part... IF true.
Bit diff playing a 6 foot plus Brazilian international defensive midfielder who has also played in defence numerous times Compared to a small full back who was a winger until a year or two back. He’s get destroyed by most centre forwards.
Also, exciting as it is to get new players, I've never liked the idea of too many at once. I realise that we're not talking about wholesale changes to the first 11, but even so I prefer steady and judicious strengthening over time.
So Mbappe wants to play in the PL and likes Liverpool's style ...... according to 'his people'. Can Edwards seal the deal for a ten year repayment plan and a packet of croissants?
Fab was easily my MotM against the chavs, but I don't want to see him there too often - he's better employed in his usual position, and I'd worry about his lack of real pace against speedy forwards. He's intelligent, and had the better of Werner, but Werner is new to the PL and experienced coaches would work out ways of getting at Fab if he was there a lot. Imo. Joe and Joel are too prone to injury and I think we need someone else there. I don't know about experimenting with Neco there, he still seems a trifle immature at times. I'm sure he'll be a fine player, but needs more time before being thrown in at the deep end. Having said all that, I'm happy that Klopp knows what he's doing so if he believes we're ok I'm happy with that too.
He'll look good on the bench, and might be useful in the League Cup (or whatever it's called these days).
