Can someone explain why Spurs would be awarded the tie if it isn't played.

Because we were available to play and they have had to withdraw, and there is no time to reschedule the match.

Seems harsh in the circumstances, but rules is rules I guess.

The Guardian are reporting that the number of Orient players that tested positive is "well into double figures "

    Sounds rough.

It's a good job spurs played for the test otherwise our squad would be ****ed. Clubs in the lower leagues cant afford to pay £150 per test so this is gonna be a major problem as the season goes on

this is probably the tip of the iceberg - I think that it is very unlikely that the season will be completed at any level below championship and possibly not any level. Certainly won't see fans back in grounds on mass for many months. Not sure how many clubs will survive this season if there is no income.

I could see that coming and with a second wave I cant see how the season can be completed but you never know, nothing in football surprises me anymore

Just remember it's the Orient players' fault

Not the Tory government who said, sure, football can come back
Not the Tory government who said, sure, here's a £10 voucher to go to Wagamama
Not the Tory government who said, sure, go to the pub for a couple of pints
Not the Tory government who said, sure, we can get a working test & trace app in no time
Not the Tory government who said, sure, herd immunity is fine - and if a few pensioners die, too bad

Orient chairman expects match to be called off, but insists that it is a postponement and will be played at later date

Nearly 11 o'clock and nothing official!
Leaving it late. What about the fans who need to know whether to leave work early to make their travel arrangements? Once again, totally ignored.

    Nope.
It would worsen the avalanche effect that the Os fixtures may already suffer.

If it was a R4 fixture, the fixture could be rescheduled any time between
now and end november (as it would only affect two clubs) .

Still waiting for Dido Harding to prove she knows how to do anything other than be friends with Dominic Cumstain and get lucrative positions she's grossly unqualified for as a direct result of it...

Call it off and award it to Spurs

That’s the correct thing to do

Not a reflection on our club

we don’t want extra games and we don’t want the virus

we should be given the tie

if we as a club donate something to Orient then that’s nice...if we don’t then that’s no reflection on us
