Yes - initial reaction to the news of no fans is “oh God who’s going to want to buy a football club now?”. But then you think a bit further and the positive is it’s going to make Donald more desperate to sell. Will be interesting to see how much longer Fuhrman is willing to squeeze him. You’d like to think he’d want to make sure he gets the club, even if it means having to fund it thru COVID? For the people that understand the loan situation better than me - is there a risk that Donald knows he’s up **** creek and so pays off the FPP loan and accepts a low bid from elsewhere? Assuming Fuhrman still plays a game of chicken on the price?
Does anyone consider Storey to be likely favourite to take over now? He has always been very vocal about trying too but his language has become even more confident lately and then seeing the local newspapers start giving him the time of day has got me very worried
I think that it is fast becoming a 'Perfect Storm' for a potential buyer in these times. Especially with FPP holding some many of the strings. I think Donald was stalling/holding out hoping that we'd start playing again hopefully winning and with the reintroduction of the crowds there would be a drip feed of cash into the club. I hope that this does come to an end as we (ALL) deserve better.
Exactly - my main fear though is that Fuhrman is trying to squeeze every last £ out of Donald (which is fair enough), but in the mean time Donald might start looking for other people to sell to and find some idiot who has can prove the cash (at least to the level EFL need proof). I'm not basing that fear on anything other than my own anxieties. I clearly know nothing, before anybody misinterprets this post
Well...he better be quick before the transfer window shuts...he did say that the squad needs to be made up of local talent mixed up with a few superstars to get the fans off their seats. Im pretty sure he also said say that he had ex-premier league players lined up to join the squad! I think you can see the man is just full of piss and wind
I've just noticed your profile picture is actually Niall Quinn and now I can't believe I ever doubted you're actually his dad.
what local press have picked up on it? genuine question (I'm not local). I saw Barnesy interviewed him a month or so back, but nowt since.
Vague!, your being to kind.. He has not posted one piece of substantiated ,credible information. He has taken lots of snippets from the SMB board and cobbled them together and came up with his version of his view on negotiations at the club. He might well have a connection with the club but if anyone believes he has genuine inside info, I'd think again.
The longer this drags on the more I worry. Next worst case scenario nothing at all happens which is what over the road seem set on.
The Chronicle is a Newcastle paper. They’ll say anything about us. Storey is clearly a puppet for the current SAFC board.
The Chronicle article also says "Club courses have told us that they don't view Storey as a credible buyer." He started sniffing around 6 months ago and then never provided necessary proof on numerous occasions. It's not happening.
No proof of funds..... what a surprise! ......bluffing his way in like he did with Haas and his rarely seen energy drink.
I still don't get why he is even bothering then. It can't be for publicity as though I love my club we are not big fish atm. Same with sky wanting an exclusive to any takeover. Why? It would be barely make the news unless it was DELLBoy himself
