All I've heard this year is Newcastle have done well...but have ridden their luck.

I was looking forward to receiving some genuine credit from the 'pundits' this eve.......then the last 5 mins happened!!!

What in God's name was Pardew thinking of with his substitution decisions?!!

We needed a midfielder on to sure up the midfield...but yet we ended up finishing at 4-4-2 under that kind of pressure?!

Lovenkrands came on ahead of Ben Arfa , Marveaux...what?!

We needed to drag the flagging Obertan off but yet he lasted til 92nd minute?!

He brought off Cabaye?!....for Guthrie?!....What?!!!!

If it weren't for a blind linesman wearing a cap for the sun in his eyes, we would be RAGING at throwing away 2 points.

Lets all look forward for every single pundit & media 'guru' lay on the 'Riding their luck, it won't last card'......brilliant!

Overall, 3rd place. Unbelievable.

McCarthy made some of the best subs I've ever seen but it was to little to late.

 

I actually think we have been lucky a few times this season.

 

Yes we did win. Why is it being negative?! Lets stick out heads in the sand then shall we and just hope for the best!

If you weren't having a minor heart attack during that last 5 mins then there something wrong with you. It was totally avoidable with common sense.

 

It is a shame actually, because due to how the last 10 mins of this match went, it will now be dubbed as yet another one which we 'rode our luck'. I guarantee they pick that out in MOTD.

 

We did ride our luck at the end though, there is no denying it so it will be true if MOTD say it.

What they will also have to say in order for it to be a fair report is that we were largely comfortable for most of the game and were effective going forward and took our two goals very well. There was no luck involved in getting into the winning position.

At some stage in the season the situation will reverse and we will be denied a win or a point by a referreing decision. It's all swings and roundabouts!

Also the table doesn't lie, you do not get to third in the table after 7 games though luck alone.

 

We played some lovely stuff and were cruising until he made those changes.

Yes, we won and it's great, but we could easily have thrown it away all because of 10 daft minutes.

For the most part though we were the far classier side
