Only because they lie and use it to cause trouble. It's all just a pile of shyte. Britain and Eire are not racist countries. Too many people tie us to the USA and we are not them. The vandals who tore down the statue in Bristol have now been invited on to a committee. So they can review and give their opinions on all things statue.
They should not be allowed IMO to pull down Historic statues. I'll blow up a few luther/black panther statues see how they feel. tThey want respect, well respect HISTORY.
I’m definitely not in all this knee bending malarkey is racist in itself so I will have nothing to do with it Have to ask the question how much longer is it going to go on for.? Or From here to eternity
I'm sure you're not racist shaks... but I'm at a loss to understand why you seem so vehemently against trying to improve the way fellow humans treat each other, both in the here and now and for future generations. Racism is at the heart of so much of what is wrong with society and we haven't yet found a way to change perceptions based on skin colour, those perceptions unforunately sometimes lead to injustice, prejudice and discrimination. Hopefully, most people accept that as fact and agree that to do nothing to redress that inequality is unacceptable. Hence the original massive support for ' black lives matter ', unforunately certain aspects of that slogan and the organisations attached to it have been seen to be unacceptable and therefore the campaign has to evolve and distance itself from those elements. Hence...' No room for racism ' which I fully support.
I see the attempt to keep politics off this thread is continuing to go well ‘Football threads matter’ or ‘no room for politics’. If we’re keeping up to date
Sending off made it difficult to judge. What I would like to see is the referee reviewing his decision on the pitchside monitor for all red cards and penalties. Do this as a matter of procedure without being asked to and therefore being influenced by Stockley Park. Or better still just get rid of VAR completely
No you are stirring the ****. Im an Irishman but yet its ok to slag my race, but bring colour into it then you over educated posh boys jump on a bandwagon. You never apologise for the killing of a 5 yr old a hate crime.
Sorry Jammy, I've got to disagree with you. Note that I don't believe myself to be racist, simply sensible. I also can't stand racism. I do not approve of this kneeling malarkey. In this country, it means acknowledging subservience. In the US, I believe it is aimed at dishonouring the US flag. So why are our players forced to kneel? Yes, forced. Not one refusal, unlike F1, for instance. Forced by various means. Not only do we have the kneeling nonsense, but we appear to permit political statements now. Players used to be punished if they lifted their shirts to reveal the most innocuous statements underneath. Now a blind eye is turned to the very, very political raised clench fist. This represents Black Power, and its associated terrorism. Not an organisation that would like it's history detailed in full. So anti-racist that they themselves present as racist. Yet not one dissenting word......... So WTF has subservience & support of a terrorist group got to do with our football players? And as has been asked before, how long does this go on? Yes, let's keep racism out of football, but using antagonistic, aggravating, over-the-top, & just plain wrong iconoclasm is not the way to do it. Where was the consultation or recommendations? Didn't happen. It came from the 'grass roots' - footballers themselves. Not exactly known for being bright, are they? And it shows. A huge flock of misled sheep. Now if this makes me angry, what does it do to the racists they are apparently targeting? Might only be a hunch, but I suspect they won't be joining in. Minimum.
All those assumptions are wide of the mark. My own grandmother was Irish...it's a wonderful county and she was a kind beautiful soul. As for the rest, you're just plain wrong but as I prefer to keep my background to myself you'll just have to take my word for it. No idea which hate crime you're referring to but sounds abhorrent to me.
