Fantastic start to the season from Town.

Not just the results but glimpses of good football too.

    Another 3 points earned today.
Not a great game but I'll take the win and the points that come with it.

Hmmm, time will tell but I think our strikers are so poor, a lot harder tests to come. I hope I am wrong but what I have seen over the last few seasons, doesn't fill me with much hope!!
I used to get excited about match day, I used to look forward to seeing good football but nowadays it's all so drab!
Be honest guys, your standards and expectations have dropped massively over the last ten years. Now happy with a win regardless, I just find it sad tbh

I tell ya what, Magiltons or Keans Town side would put 10 past this current town side.
I can't see any of our strikers hitting 10 this season, let alone the 20 you need.
I think Ward was a good signing tho, proper decent pro that will help our defence

Kind of coincides with 10 years of Evans' ownership!

It's difficult to expect too much these days without a new owner coming in.

I don’t think it is a win regardless. Only two others teams have won both matches and we are playing some decent football in spells. We’ve kept two clean sheets without Woolfy and KVY too.

It is only League One, but we can’t compete in any other division this year.

Norwood does not look right and we don’t have any good, fit striking options. It’s a concern, but it’s massive progress on last season. The goalkeeper, defence and midfield look balanced and encouraging.

    Yep I get that SD.
I hope that last season was the lowest point but without a decent striker, I think it will be a struggle. Glad we are playing sides I think will be near the bottom at the moment. Get on a bit of a roll like last season

Yes Yorkie, i will take your word on that as not watched today. I wasn't impressed with the Wigan performance. Only thing is, keep in mind that the two wins are against two of the weaker sides in the division and another weak side up next. It'll be interesting to see how we do against the better sides, then you will get a true idea

I have to say that while I agree with the more realistic soothsayers, I am just glad that we are back on the turf playing footie again, turning out a decent team for this league, won our opening two matches, and top of the league! My sights and expectations have lowered last few years, which, as others point out coincide with the disaster that Evans reign has been.

And yes, we do need one more top striker, but will we get one in? I doubt it, and others like Edwards, Nolan and Bish are looking to score. And from what littlle I have seen this month there have been real periods of smooth, flowing play, and a few really good individual performances.

I am as ever the optimist!

I think Covid changes perspective a bit on Evans’ ownership. I can’t understand why Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs and the like are shelving out the kind of cash they have done and laying staff off at the same time. Barcelona are even in financial trouble. Then there’s the Southampton sponsorship deal fiasco. TV and ticket revenue falls off a cliff and that’s even if the season is completed.

It doesn’t excuse the years of failure but in the current climate I actually don’t want us to break the bank for wages and fees and will be more than happy with a return to the Championship.
