De Gea can only blame himself there. I wouldn't be surprised if Henderson is a little pleased inside. It was such a dreadful penalty from Ayew, that De Gea would have saved it even by staying on his line. But, regardless, he should know that VAR will always over-rule a saved penalty this season when the keeper steps over his line. There is zero value in a keeper even trying it to get away with it now.
Keepers will have to stand about a foot behind their line to compensate, haven’t seen any keeper who doesn’t move forward as the taker is in his run up. They need the momentum to get into the dive, hard to just spring from a standing start
One of the keepers did last week. I can't remember which one, but it was really quite visible how far back he was standing. (I'm not defending the rule by the way. Just saying that whilst it is what it is, De Gea should have been well aware and is to blame,)
This makes me feel a tiny, tiny, tiny bit better about last week. Not by much though. Particularly because I doubt Utd will follow it up by their full XI losing to a Championship's reserve side.
I hope we lose 9-0 every match If you were such an expert on the rules you wouldn't be reffing what's essentially pub players every week so excuse me if i don't trust your opinion on officiating.
Pleased that Everton have got off to a good start. I hope they can continue in this vein as that club has been underachieving for a very, very long time. And where is Calvert-Lewin in the pecking order for England? However, his prolific form in front of goal maybe due to the creativity that has been added to Everton's squad.
Which proves there is more to building a football team that just flashing the chequebook!! They need the iconic Harry Kane!!!! (who is not in the same class as Ibrahimavic, even now)
