Just been reading a bit about some doctor saying ‘if people were only getting tested when absolutely needed, then the outlook would be very different’

It’s a theory isn’t it? If folk weren’t getting a test ‘because they can’ would the numbers dwindle to a level when the government had no plausible power to tell folk right and wrong?

Stick to your distancing, stick to 2 weeks alone if symptoms, but only go for a test if you are really struggling.

Id imagine 90% of the numbers then disappear from plain sight and the death and serious illness numbers remain stable.

    Like i say, it’s a theory ain’t it.

They lied about the number of tests to reach their "target". They will lie to suit their narrative. 50% chance of rain today. There always is, it either rains or it doesn't...Lies and damn statistics

We could simply stop giving them the ammo of numbers in theory though, and see where they went from there.

We all know we are being fed dog **** and told it’s toothpaste.

Sorry to hear this mate, I hope your Mam has nothing worse than a cough.

How can things be so ****e in Britain?

I went on holiday to Spain last month. I knew Italy had brought in compulsory testing for people returning from Spain, Croatia, Malta & Greece, and when I got back to Venice airport I saw signs for testing. I was second in the queue, a bloke told me to sanitise my hands and fill in a form. Two minutes later and a lass fed my details into the computer. Another couple of minutes and a doctor in full astronaut gear was putting a stick up my two nostrils. She told me that if I hung around for half an hour I'd have the result, and she was true to her word. Negative fortunately.

I'd looked up what I'd have to do if there wasn't a testing centre at the airport and it was easy, the local hospital has a walk-in service for a couple of hours every afternoon.

The Italian state is usually the world champion at arsing around and half-baked solutions, but because things were so bad here in March the health system has been excellent at keeping the virus under control.

A returning holidaymaker who went on a pub crawl instead of self-isolating was partly responsible for Bolton's "extreme spike" in coronavirus cases, the town's council leader said.

David Greenhalgh said the man tested positive for Covid-19 two days after the night out with friends in the town.
He said Bolton's high rate had been linked back to pubs and a "cohort of people" who refused to follow guidance.
It is currently subject to tighter restrictions to halt the rise.
Mr Greenhalgh told BBC Radio 4's Today programme the spike "took us by surprise as we were arguing to have a further easing of restrictions at the time".
He said: "We had an extreme spike where we went from 12 cases per 100,000 and in less than three weeks we were up at 212 cases."
    'Number of mates'
The rise led Bolton to have the highest rates of Covid-19 in the country.
"We had somebody who did not adhere to quarantine, did not stay the 14 days, literally went on a pub crawl with a number of mates," Mr Greenhalgh said.
"From that incident which took place over a weekend - (they) visited a number of premises - led to a large number of individual transmissions from that one person which you can imagine then is like holding back the tide because he then became symptomatic two days after they had all gone on this pub crawl.
"That is four or five days where all the people he was in contact with have been going about their normal day-to-day business."
Bolton is now subject to tougher measures than most of England, with hospitality venues only allowed to operate as takeaways and ordered to shut by 22:00.

Why don't they name him? :bandit:

Fines should've been huge, and clearly spelled out, from the start.

    Cummings should've been sacked.

The invitation for people to go to pubs & restaurants was poorly handled and bound to end like this.

The testing is still an absolute shambles after all this time.

Still, I agree with you, lock a few people up and get serious ffs.

Looking at the Breakfast News it seems the PM falls into that category.

    FFS man, it's truly shameful.

He's not wearing a mask when surrounded by strangers, passing tools back & forth and obviously believing, as with his mate Mr 'Just testing my eyesight', the rules are just for other people.

When people are being told to work from home, and avoid unnecessary contact with their own family, this clown thinks it's crucial that the nation sees him flapping around trying to plane a piece of wood ...

... two short planks springs to mind.

Number of cases is a total irrelevance if it doesn't trenslate into deaths or hospitalisations.

Just 71 deaths yesterday and hardly anyone in hospital -
    https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/healthcare

    Now we find out this.......

NHS bed occupancy in England - April to June 2020
    https://www.england.nhs.uk/.../bed.../bed-data-day-only/

Can you remember when the government said that they were canceling operations etc to cater for a massive upsurge in virus cases that were ending up in hospital? Can you remember all of those nightingale hospitals that were built? If you have look at the above link and home in on this Excel spreadsheet:

    2020-21
NHS organisations in England, Quarter 1, 2020-21 (XLS, 115KB)

    You find something very interesting.

In the quarter April to June 2020 ie when we were locked down just 50% of the available beds were occupied. The occupancy in the NE was as low as 45%.

The NHS was never overrun, in fact it had massive spare capacity of 50%.

One complete over reaction associated with everything to do with this virus.

I invite you to check the figures yourself.

This moronic virus craic is now a national scandal and a national disgrace.

A national enquiry into this over hyped virus is urgently needed and prosecutions should be forthcoming.

The likes of Vallance, Whitty, Ferguson and Harding should be immediately sacked and Hancock hauled in front of parliament and scrutinised. Johnson should be replaced.

The country has wasted billions on hospitals that were not needed. Thousands of people have been killed unnecessarily due to cancelled operations and cancelled life saving treatment, that we now find out the NHS had the capacity to deal with.

The figures wherever you look at this virus are now paltry, have been at best not explained properly and at worst manipulated; this virus was over in June.

Its likely that only a proportion of the population has been exposed to the virus, if it 20%, then should we expect 200,000 deaths if the whole populatiom is exposed?

What is clearly happening here - plain as day - is that there is a massive wealth transfer scheme going on.

Money is haemorrhaging, unnecessarily, out of entire countries eg the UK and being transferred to already extremely wealthy individuals and companies eg SERCO and this who have shares in this company - https://gizmodo.com/the-gates-foundation-is-filling-its-coffers-with-profit-1836639718.

The next wealth transfer scheme will be in the vaccine, see my posts above, in which legal liability for an unlicensed vaccine will be negated and those who have proven shares in vaccine companies will be made extraordinarily wealthy.

All the time the UK loses its wealth and more and more pressure is put on us, the taxpayer, to pay for this out of our taxes.

Do we think it a co-incidence that last night, the day before the Coronavirus Act is due to be discussed and renewed (that gives Johnson basically the power of ruling by decree and paves the way for potential death misdiagnosis not being checked by the coroner) the Govt announces record number of cases (which is a total red herring anyway)?

In summary - next to no one in hospital, next to no one dying, next to non one on ventilators, massive wealth transfer, potential death misdiagnosis unchecked, NHS hospitals working at just 50% capacity, cases (a total irrelevance) being made a huge issue out of, unlicensed/no legal liability vaccine on the way, millions of cancer patients and others having treatments cancelled and tens of thousands dying - justifies whats going on here?

Make up your own mind and follow the money.....

There were more than 7,000 new cases yesterday, the highest number since Covid started infecting the population. Yes there is more testing being done so there will be more cases but knowing what we know now about how to flatten the curve the numbers should be low and remain low. 7,000 is not low.

Wear a mask, use hand sanitiser and try to social distance at all times.

Just seen your latest post, I've made my own mind up and you're a fruit loop. The virus is real and if Governments return everything to normal as if Covid has gone or never existed the number of deaths will rise unchecked. If everybody acted responsibly hospitals will be able to treat other patients with an existing diagnosis.

Everything I have posted on this thread is backed up by facts from eg NHS, ONS, UK Govt.

Is the penny starting to drop?

This virus has been over since june and a second wave has been manufactured - the stats back that up. The Govt will have multiple waves until people tell them - enough. Its now coming into flu season and the govt will start to conflate this strain of coronavirus with others/the flu/common cold. Plain s day what they will do.

Vallance now admits that his third grade crayoned graph the other week, presented by Whitty was a"guess". None of it is coming true and the whole lot of them are totally discredited.

More and more people now looking at the stats - from the Govts own related websites - and asking the questions that the MSM and Govt are deliberately ignoring.

A very difficult time is coming for the government shortly.

Who cares if there are 7000 new cases if just 71 die and there are only 2000 in hospital? It is a totally irrelevant stat and no different to the norm.

All the stats are there - hidden in plain sight - all you have to do is look for them and interpret them - it isn't difficult.
