Just to help you: Ersatz means a substitute, typically an inferior one as in Johnson for May. One was a real Prime Minister the other is just a ****er.
It’s the same for any up & coming. Whoever they are, they will be stripped because the top 4/6 can’t afford to lose that position. As a business, they can just about fcuk up for a season & recover (£) but more & it’s financially disastrous. Cant see it being toppled tbh. Foxs did the unthinkable & have poked & probed but haven’t really upset the group. Wolves now. We had our snippet, so have even WBrom & others but essentially all will fail; too much to lose (for the others).
It’s probably 80/20. It’s always 80/20 Even this thread has times when it should be called the ‘Finding as many ways as we can to piss ourselves off thread’ As in - Offer for Danny - Money talks - Danny’s staying - Danny’s holding us to ransome - etc rolling story It isn’t twitter or SW though - Thank Le God
I think it s called the Pareto effect (The Pareto principle known as the 80/20 rule states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes).
Looks like Liverpool's Rhian Brewster will be going to either Sheff Utd or Palace according to the Beeb.
Sorry but Ralph hasn't quite got it yet on home form. It's all very well playing our socks off while playing away. Our home form is where we need to improve dramatically. We really cant afford to have last seasons home form. To be honest I think Ralphs future may depend on it. We do have some good players in there but we do have to many very mediocre ones too. If Ralph doesn't buy wisely he really could be out the door by Christmas. Don't shoot me just my opinion is all.
In some ways this squad is very similar to the one Strachan had. When at their peak of fitness they were a match for anyone, but when off the pace they can look ordinary. Strachan always worked on the principles that the highest level of fitness gave players more time to react and think. I think he was right TBH.
That's an astute observation St B, I think that once the team are up to full match fitness we will see a much more effective forward press from the team and will pen the oppo in more effectively than thus far and not get caught out defensively so much. you only have to take a couple off % off a team's workrate to affect the function of the whole team. Danny would obviously be the Beattie equivalent of WGS's team with his ability to sniff a goal from any situation.
Reckon we could be in big trouble if we don't get a decent midfielder in. Romeu just isn't mobile enough for how Ralph wants us to play. Relying on Ings to bag 20 goals again might be a tad risky.
"For a player that clearly has a kind side, as denoted by his charitable work, it would sadden me if he was holding the club to ransom for a wage as high as £125k per week" Sorry, your quote was the most quotable and I understand that you're saying you don't believe he would, but others will think and say otherwise
