Lost my uncle to it.. You might change your tune if you get it. Its not fun for the person dieing alone, and it's not for the family. Attitudes like yours really don't help society. The irony with covid is the people arguing against lock downs are the most likely to be flouting the rules and spreading it - making more lock downs necessary. This pandemic has shown us all up for who we are. We're meant to be watching out for each other by distancing and wearing masks etc. It seems that although a minority, there's still a significant amount of selfish people around.
Money & jobs can all be restored, life cannot. Not that I don’t have sympathy with people struggling financially or kids losing out on schooling, but the responsibility for that is the government’s, like in every other country. I get angry seeing stuff like this. Lost my mam just over a year ago, now desperately trying to keep my dad safe. I do all his shopping, food or otherwise. Have to check his fridge ‘cos he pays no attention to “use by dates” & no sense of smell. Dementia progressing rapidly, faster than mam who had it for 10 years, but he’s still my dad. I don’t want to lose him any earlier than I have to, would you?
WTF, guessing?!? You came on here telling everyone that you had clear information from someone 'closer to the action than we can all imagine'. Now, you're just guessing, says it all tbh.
I’ve pm’d you my take on it all and non of its guesswork hopefully I’m wrong and Magnus etc are right as I’m sick of it all tbh.
I’ve got to say the coffee is spot on and much better than costa, Starbucks etc but I cannot get away with the food
Kinda true if you just look at statistics. For many though it's ****ing awful and that's not just limited to those that die. I know people who are still off work with blood pressure and heart issues as a result of it nigh on 20 weeks after becoming ill with it. I still can't smell or taste properly 21 weeks after I became ill with it, I'm 45. One of the big reasons older folks were dying in hospital over younger is because of the treatments available to them. They (hospitals) became so overloaded we had scoring systems in place which looked at age and comorbidities to see if they would get the relevant O2 therapy needed to keep them alive. Older folks with dementia, heat problems etc had to hope a bit of oxygen via a simple face mask would save them, younger folk would have NIV or ventilators as required. If a second wave sees more people becoming ill we will see younger folk dying as a result as the scoring system will see younger folk not getting the points to see them get CPAP or intensive care. We had theatres opening as ITU beds and specialist ITU staff were being spread thinly as a result, we had around 75% of medical wards packed full of Covid patients and alarms were going off as oxygen supplies were running far too low. ITU were full of young patients as well, it wasn't just hitting older people, they just weren't getting in ITU as the young filled it up well beyond capacity.
Mrs is a nurse and contracted it early on around Easter when hardly any PPE . Lets remember this government refused to spend on equipment when warned about this scenario well in advance. Boris Johnson one of many Tory bastards whooping and cheering when a vote for no nurses pay rise well in advance of this yet still no pay rise and a fooking cheap badge as thanks that they the nurses have to pay £1 for. A doctor at the hospital she works told her how pìssed off he was at nurses getting fook all yet working frontline whilst GP's sit at home tossing it off and they get the pay rises. And people commenting what a good job government have done lol. Tory fooking bastards. Rant over
See this takeover thread has been taken over by Covid, sick of hearing about Covid so can this thread get back on track please if rather tune into no news than read reams of people's Covid experiences however sad that is.
According to someone I know 10 children rushed in to intensive care with Covid this week after school return.
Tbh your entire contribution, to the thread, has been to say that people like Magnus and Prehab are lying.
Think what gilly said was kind of accurate in that the vast majority won't even know they have it but as this thread has shown a lot of people have been personally affected by the virus either themselves or someone they know, often we use our own experiences to draw conclusions and if we can't see something ourselves we don't often realise the impact it's having.
Follows his posting behaviour over the road. Guaranteed he'll be one of the "I told you so " crowd if it falls through. Must be a joy at parties
