Never had a problem there with Welsh numberplates. <yikes> Poole is a very laid back town. If based there travelling west to Wareham, Swanage, Weymouth, Dorchester is very relaxed. Sparkey's New Forest area is pretty chilled too.

But my plates are German. unfortunately, my missus wouldn't let me have F-CK as the basis but there are plenty about town!!! She insisted that we get the freely distributed option....but ended up with F-KC so not so bad.

During lockdown, the welsh police were scanning car number plates on the dual carriage way between chester and wrexham, checking automatically on DVLA and stopping any car registered to an English address.

I’ve heard similar accounts from people going dogging Sparky - I bet the guy was a Sheffield Wednesday fan and that activity topped off a fine week for him!

Packing up and heading back home today, but might stop off at Hughenden Park for a go behind the logs.....<laugh>

I must be a lucky bugger but had a fantastic week of weather in the middle of September. Spoken to the lady who owns this cottage and arranged a fortnight here about the same time next year (God willing!).

What have I learned this past week?

    1. City can't half play some **** football when you least expect it - it was like a kick in the nuts last Saturday.

    2. You don't need to be a lumberjack to go logging.

    3. You can get Peroni in a can.

Going offline now and sticking the laptop in its' travel case - hopefully will be back in harness this evening. <ok>

Looks like I got back just in time. <yikes>

Would I have been let back in if I'd stayed on across there for a few days?

No. Barricades at Cardiff West Services. Have to skirt around the Vale and hope there is no blockade at Southerndown.

Totally f**ked my holiday to Portugal next Saturday though. The ar$ehole that is Mark Drakeford strikes again. Scruffiest twat in the world.

If Drakeford's purpose and intent through these measures is to look after the residents in of these areas in Wales that's fair enough. What I don't understand is why people can't travel to other destinations where there are no restrictions.

OK, so you can't travel into the area, but why does that matter on a national/international basis when leaving it?

Maybe you'd have trouble getting back in (legally) which might put you off, but there should be nothing to prevent you leaving the area if that's your choice.

Does he have jurisdiction over who enters Portugal?

Drove to S Wales and back to extricate my Mam from Porth last Thursday ahead of their lockdown.
Friends just left after a long weekend here to return to Tre-Lewis just before Merthyr goes into lock down.

Would have thought it more important for lockdowns to stop people leaving (and potentially spreading the virus) than entering.

At least Wales are locking down at short notice. Last Thursday, Mersyside announced they'd lock down tomorrow (Tuesday). Imagine the parties in liverpool on the weekend. Bonkers approach.
