It really is important to get your priorities right....Tory MP arrested on suspicion of rape keep the whip, but Tory MPs who uphold international law lose it

I nearly just fell off my chair... I turned on the Parliament channel and thought the bill was being announced only to see the 'no's' win? I thought I would be eating humble pie. <yikes> Then I realised it was a Labour bill. :emoticon-0107-sweat

Classic Lord Lilley just basically told the drunk Maitlis on Newsnight to shut up and let him answer the question he said ”ive let you ask a question twice as long as my answer”.<laugh>

Pay attention. You didn't. But, as you well know, you did say that Michael Howard was a remoaner. I realise you have the memory of a flea but surely just once in a while you must remember your own diarrhoea particularly when it comes from a different orifice.

Oooo you're a cleaver one? Point is, you said I did... So actually you are the one who is talking a load of old diarrhoea, which you do normally. Pay attention or don't reply.<doh>

Actually you could be right. I have responded to so many posts that you all seem to blend into one big poster? However I would never call either Howard or Cox a ’ useful idiot’. :emoticon-0148-yes:

My mistake. It was of course the fake Ellers who was responsible for "Howard is a moaning old remainer. Another loser. they are all coming out of the woodwork. I’m not worried about these remoaning die hards. And the useful idiots." Post #54934 on page 3747 Have you got any useful emoticons for an embarrassed liar trying to weasel his way out of a tight spot? I did notice how refreshingly quiet it was for a while after the whole forum ribbed you about it as there wasn't a peep out of you for a while.

Anyway, fun over. Your deflection is duly noted. But what do you make of Geoffrey Cox's position?

I don't have an emoji for liar but I do for an idiot. :emoticon-0100-smile
As for the whole forum ripping me about it... About what? Only stopped posting when I was away. I don't take things seriously enough to worry about a few posts... Do you?
As for Cox... I like him, always have. As for Howard I probably meant to say remoaner? Don't see the problem.

Ellers, you are a decent chap but you are taking this whole subject way too serious and way too personal.

My advice, take a step back. You are allowing yourself to get into too many skirmishes with lots of other posters.

Do yourself a favor and take a break away from here. In a couple of weeks time, you will feel much better.

Cheers mate. I have work anyway so my time will be limited. Thanks for advice. :emoticon-0148-yes: However it is only the ’usual suspects’ I seem to have these silly debates with. I don't take it personally. Anyway I hope you are well mate:emoticon-0148-yes:

People who assault emergency workers will face tougher sentences of up to two years in jail under a new law

    About bloody time too...

I thought I’d read about this being done before and I had. Obviously I’m not condoning assaulting emergency workers and frankly if they want enforce longer sentences for such offences then I’d have no issue with that but this comes across a bit as an issue ready to be wheeled out when convenient.

It could be that a new law addresses whatever holes were in the old law.

Good news for us on the frontline......I’ve had the odd threat and shouting match but probably ‘cos of my age and experience with aggressive people, I’m pretty good at defusing the situation. Adding to that I am willing to give MH patients the benefit of the doubt and have forgiven the odd mouthful of spit that has been gobbed my way.

What I find most disgusting is the sexual advances and suggestive innuendoes that my young, female colleagues have to put up with on a daily basis. Well out of order.
