Wish the lad the best of luck at city ,hope he's a big success, only concern is the amount of clubs he's had in the past.

Like with all the other signings I know very little about them, and know nothing about Thomas Mayer. I guess we will have to wait and see whether he is a good acquisition or not.

So far, I've been reasonably impressed with Emmanual, Smallwood & Docherty, not forgetting that they are playing in the 3rd tier, and whether, should we get promoted, good enough for Championship football remains to be seen.

Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Senegal international goalkeeper Abdoulaye Diallo.

I assume Mayer must have been on trial at City over the past week or so? It’s a very left field signing.

If he was a free agent he was likely already training with us. They obviously rate him if they’ve given him a potentially 3 year deal, could be a steal.
I’m a bit gutted it’s not Randall, though the HDM reckons we are still interested. Would probably require Wilks to leave to accommodate that though.

I wouldn't be too upset if Wilks made way. To my eyes he really lacks the basic skills to develop upwards and onwards.

Depend if they use that Mayer on the right. He’s left footed so he could play on the left/right or through the middle. I like the fact he’s quick.

True, though given how Honeyman played there I think that role will go to him.

I checked his stats on Transfermarkt, which is kept up to date (Mayer's already at our club on it), it confirms he got 6 goals and 15 assists in 29 games. So 21 goal involvements in 29 games. That's pretty damn good for a free transfer.

The Austrian second division isn't bad, it's about the same as League 1/bottom of Championship.

Oh god he was ****ing ****
He ****ed up everything he touches. His touch is ****. He runs about giving fouls away left right and centre.
His first “assist” was a ****ed up shot. it was a decent free kick, the first one he did out of how many. While Flemings were far better.
I’m hopeful Callum Jones can step in and show how the position should be played
Honeyman is **** a typical lower league scuffler who runs about to no purpose. the sooner we get someone anyone in there the better

Mmm. Not sure I agree with you, I think he’s better than you’re giving him credit for.
I do like Callum Jones, I think given the opportunity he will do well at this level, but a short term loan if we do get another number 10 would also do him the world of good.

He was by all accounts excellent on Saturday. The new HDM sports reporter who had no previous misconceptions on Honeyman singled him out as a key player and one of the best performers v Gillingham.

Involved in most positive passages of play and with an assist for both goals. Not sure what more you could ask from a midfielder in fairness.

I said on the match thread that **** **** will get an assist for a ****ed up shot for the first goal <laugh><laugh><laugh>
I watched the match he was garbage
Miss control bad passes it went in to touch a few times needless Fouls he was ****. then when he had an easy opportunity to score he ****ed it up completely
He just looks busy but his end product and passing is terrible.
I’m very happy to see him play if he improves but he was ****e last season and still is this.

to be honest I agree with Chazz, I watched the same stream and he was poor on Mine. He must have been better on the other stream

Well, strange how opinions vary. Someone Who was live at the game without a previous opinion on Honeyman or the rest of the team thought he was our best player.

    Someone is wrong!

I think the thing is GLP is that he is very effective at being ineffective...
