Have to agree on the first penalty. It deflected off his knee so cannot possibly be deemed deliberate unless I’ve missed another rule change.

I’d wager that Taylor didn’t see it deflect off his leg and gave the pen. What you’ve had your first taste of there, is the VAR ref not having the stones to either overrule or at least insist that Taylor views the monitor. Even Carragher wasn’t having it, which says it all really.
That was my interpretation. VAR should have asked the ref to take a look at the pitchside monitor...if he still thought it was a pen then so be it.
Yeah the playing from the back against us is what I mean by tactically, we love teams that do that. You kept at it though and we thought it would be easy which was arrogant, hopefully we will learn from that.
