Alright Guys just to get in the mood for the derby tomorrow what is the best goal you've witnessed in a derby game over the years, it can be for how much you enjoyed it, how important it was in relation to that season or i just how good of a goal it was.

I'll start off and go for what i think will be a popular choice Gary McAllister, last minute at Goodsion park a few years back, simply because of how up and down the game was we were ahead so many times and kept getting pegged back and then to win it in the last minute was brilliant.

I'll ditto that. I was at JC's testimonial and gary Mac came on. Every time he touched the ball, wherever he was on the pitch, everyone shouted "Shooooot!"

Hahaha he was a legend Mcallister its such a shame we couldn't have signed him when he was younger and that he wasted a long time playing for teams like Coventry. I'm going to add another goal to this thread the greatest goal never scored in a derby, Don Hutchinson kicking a freekick against Westerveld in the dying minutes at 0-0 only for the ref to blow the final whistle as the ball was trickling into the net, the looks on the bluenoses faces in the pub were priceless

Agree that Gary Macs was the best because it knocked them sick with no time to fight back.

    Heres a few more.

Robbie 'God' Fowlers goal in 1999 when he snorted the line, not for the goal but for the celebration really... I still laugh everytime i see that footage, and still laugh n joke about it with my mates now...

Maybe not the greatest, but nailed on for the funniest... <laugh>

Any goal Gerrard scores in derby is special, considering the amount of abuse thrown at him by the BS.

Not really, they won the league that year, won the cup winners cup that year and were beaten by us in the FA cup final.

Ergo, they were better than you.

I take it that you have never been to a Merseyside Derby. You obviously don't comprehend that for the 2 Derby matches both sides take the pitch as EQUALS - league/cup form does not come into it.

But then what can you expect when you've been brought up with insiped United/City derby matches<laugh>

I'm not Gonz. That is the best Merseyside derby goal I've seen, sorry if it happens to be an Everton player but it just is.

Not taking the piss, look at that goal and show me a better one, whilst taking off your red tinted glasses.

Got a bit of a problem this morning do we Dave as you're just spouting utter nonesense.

No, I haven't been to a Mersey derby, why would I? I've been to shed loads of Manc derbies by the way, including them beating us 5-1 and us beating them 5-0 and us beating them 3-2 from 2-0 down at half time, and only one goes down as insipid. Sorry to spoil a little myth for you there.

That season Everton were superior to you, you're being a child if you simply cannot handle that opinion.

I'm working this morning, am bored, so was just offering up a classic Everton mersey derby goal. That's all.
