Willis and O'Brien in everyone's lineup.

Willis is a short CB who can't jump, or pass -- and he knows it -- that is why he kicks the ball out of bounds all the time.

Hope you are all correct about O'Brien, but from what I've seen in preseason, he's more likely to put a dent in the post than score a goal.

We need more overall team speed.

Willis is a quality CB who could play at a higher level easily, he’s 5ft 11 which would make him tall in America and makes him average height here.

We are in League One, you expecting our CB’s to be hitting Pirlo like 80 yards passes like?

There’s a reason Willis is in every line up, including all of the lads who go to the match when allowed and see him properly in a game, not just the TV bits. He’d be very close to first name on the team sheet for me every week if I was gaffer.

Absolute myth that defenders need to be 6 2 and above, that’s from 10 years ago. Yeah it’s good to have some height but it’s far from essential.

Nathan Ake just signed for City for £40 million plus, he’s a Dutch international, he’s also 5 11

Bristol won’t score, I have confidence in out new defence so I will go for anything from 3-0 to 6-0

I'm going for the good Lads of Sunderland to give those Bristol Roverians a damn good thrashing.

Willis is a good player and he's two inches taller than Franco Baresi who was ****ing class.

The best ever indeed. Add Cannavaro as well he was like 5 9 or something crazy.

    He was kind of alright.

My generation of class Italian defenders. Hoy Maldini and Costacurta in there as well and it's clean sheet central.

I think there will be some disappointment when the team is announced.
I don’t think Parky will bring in the new Johnnies immediately.
It will be more of the same I’m afraid.
But a workmanlike win will suffice. <cheers>

Imagine that as a back 4 man. Maldini left Fabio right, Baresi and Costacurta in the middle.

    Like a brick wall that.

I'd love to be the goalkeeper playing behind them, could spend the match lounging around on a deckchair. Be the easiest wage to earn in football.

Flanagan and Dobson . Thought after Tuesday Scowan at the very least would start. Never mind. Hopefully wont affect the final score.

Blows my mind that Scowen drops out. Ridiculous.
