Baring injury or fitness problems and going on previous experience of Parky he will go for at least 9 or 10 of these,
    Burge
    Willis / Wright /Flanagan
    O/9 / Power / Scowen / Hume
    Gooch / Wyke / Maguire
That will leave at least 12 contenders for the bench (Mathews is a given), so that leaves only four places up for grabs.
On form shown over the pre-season Grigg, Dan Neil and Jack Diamond should be involved, but this is Parky we are talking about, and I will be surprised to see either of the young guns making the bench even despite being a revelation so far, for me, serious doubts remain around the continuous selections of Flanagan, Gooch, Wyke (who had been poor until last night.) and the erratic Maguire.
Unless they pull up their socks, or worse case scenario we lose on Saturday, even Parky will be forced into action.

Sorry mate, I don't see why Arby plays instead of Hume? Arby replaces Flanagan and Hume plays wingback. 3-4-3 is the same system we played last season. Onein, power, Dobson and Hume being the 4.

Thought Diamond gave us something from RWB that we’ve been lacking in a lot of pace and a good final ball. Wondering if Parky will start him there on Saturday.

We’ve still got Embleton to come through aswel seems people have forgotten about him with all the niggles.

    looking very strong this year.

the problem is he seems to be going the way of Robson with not being fit for longer than 10 minutes

This is what I'd pick although I haven't seen anything of Diamond, Neil, Xhbfdhg or Feeney to speak of. May be the case that Diamond makes a better WB than O'Nien or Graham far outscores Grigg but your team is what I'd kick the season off with.

I like this - good options off the bench as well. We just need Parky to be a bit bolder in his substitutions this season. There are some good players on the bench this year which should say to the starting 11 that their place is only guaranteed if they put a shift in and perform.

This, with Feeney, Neil and Diamond unlucky to miss out.

Eventually will happen but too early for him this weekend. He’s not had enough time so Flanagan will start

Anyone look Diamond up on transfermarket:
When he got to Harrogate he played CF and RW. Around the 6th match, he started at LW and kept that spot for the rest of the season.
He scored 4 times in their last 6 matches, including once at Wembley.

Haven't forgotten Robson yet never mind Embleton, I expected both to be established regulars in our first team by now, that is not to be but I still have hopes for the latter, but dont expect him to be considered this week due to the circumstances, but he is a talent that is not in doubt.

You could have said the same about Hume when he broke into the team, Robson was available for selection more than not, after being singled out by two managers as first team potential, then completely ignored, its misconceptions like this that handicap players before they start, I will watch his progress at Blackpool with interest and hope he gets a fairer chance with them than he did with us.

me too . I wish him all the best and think he's a cracking player. But I don't think that me thinking he's injury prone has held him back...

You may well be right mate, as with all players its a bit of a lottery who makes it and who doesn't, there are so many variables. A year ot two back I wanted to see Hume, Embleton, Robson and Mumba given the chance to form the nucleus of our mid-field, all had real quality, and variation, no guarantee of course, that they would blend, but if they had, I think we would have had another Jimmy Adamson moment.

Yeah you're spot on. I just hope Neil and Diamond are able to take their chances in a way that so far Robson and Embleton haven't. Whilst both are promising and didn't / haven't done anything wrong, I would also say neither have really laid a marker down (mainly due to poor luck)
