That was an enjoyable read. Thanks for the goal clips, thought Graham's finish was nice, calm as owt and good to se Charlie bag a couple. And I know it's only against an under 21's but 8-1 is a cracking result, good to see the team keeping the pressure on all through the game.
When I watch that back, as much as I detest Villa, I see every reason this competition is not a good idea! We had 10 changes from Saturday's game and absolutely destroyed them. We did the same to most U21s last season because the difference in level between the PL U21 and the third division is massive. And the third division is streets ahead. Thos young lads were almost embarrassed and I can't see it being good for them! Now, that said, we looked ruthless. And we need that IMO. You don't get to 4 then say "Right take it easy lads" - you keep scoring goals if you can.
Agree with every word here. You can only beat what's in front of you and they blew them away. Bizarre how anyone could think that a team getting battered 8-1 would aid their development. Even at kids level, if they get a hiding in a game it knocks their confidence.
Great point Monty. If we have goals from everywhere then that lack of a "20 goal striker" isn't as much of an issue.

To be fair the guy does make sense every now and again when he gets the meths cocktail ingredients just right. He tends to be heavy handed with the Ronseal.
