Bloomin heck that is not a nice scoreline for the new NI manager in his first home game.

Agreed and that was without the temptation of Icelandic models (for me anyway!)

Foden and Greenwood have been fined by Iceland for breaking Covid rules....the sort of money they probably spend on skin products every week :)

20 odd years ago England players were doing dentist chairs and pouring tequila over each other before a major tournament held in our own country and were still allowed to play.

Feel bit sorry for the 2 lads tbh.

With such bad haircuts, Greenwood and Foden might be lacking something essential between their ears!!

Yes but we weren't in the middle of a global pandemic then. Having a laugh is one thing but risking spreading a contagious virus is a different thing altogether. The bubble set up is there for a very good reason and there is no excuse for breaking the rules.

I get that but to many snowflakes about who cry about anything these days, leave the lads alone. Bollock them and move on. All that needed to happen.

For that reason I think Foden carries the can for this a bit more, there is quite a big mental difference between 18 and 21, he should have been setting a better example for Greenwood.

Agree with the others though, it was daft but you make daft decisions growing up, clip around the ear for now and back in with a clean slate next time around. If something similar were to happen again, then its time to boot them back into the Under 21's until after the Euros.

Bollock them. Leave them out of the next squad to make that point. Then move on.

I see Stan Collymore is moaning more about JWP scratching the penalty spot than he is about the two idiots who put themselves at risk of catching covid.
Maybe, if JWP had given the spot the same leathering that Collymore once gave to Ulrika Jonsson, he wouldn’t have been so upset by it.
Reference the two idiots, the penalty needs to be severe enough to discourage it from happening again.
That isn’t being a snowflake. If they hadn’t been caught, they could have put the entire squad, plus back room staff, at risk of becoming infected, if they had been unfortunate to have caught the virus. What they did cannot be compared with slipping out for a beer or two and getting wasted.

This made me laugh when Roy Keane was whinging about it too.

The man who deliberately tried to break an opponents knee complaining about the heinous crime of scuffing a penalty spot.

I mean if an opponent did it I would be pissed off, but gamesmanship is part of the sport whether we like it or not.

Even if the risk was nonexistent (which it isn't), trust is the most important thing when trying to get international sport going again. Ask the cricket board....they had to go to great lengths to convince the West Indians and Australia to come here. Pakistan were keener because they are trying to get home matches going. This was why Jofre popping home was incomprehensible....must have had officials banging their heads on the table...and his misdemeanour was less because he was visiting family and not a couple of randoms (who were obviously risk takers themselves).

I don't think the pundits would have given it much of a second thought beyond saying "that was a bit naughty" if it was one of the media favourite big club England players that did it. Edit: I'm talking about JWP and the penalty spot.

Agree...how much you are pilloried and punished does depend on how essential you are. May not be fair, but anyone of us with a modicum of experience in life knows this. This was why the two England lads were extra foolish as they can be sidelined for a while. As for JWP, nothing will happen as it is a borderline thing....he could say he was just doing a bit of gardening as they call it in cricket.
