The cat is Emily. Sadly no longer with us. Me and Mrs K got her from a cat rescue place in Reading a month after we got married in 1993. She lived with us for 11 years. She went out one day and was run over. I don’t mind admitting that I was devastated.

The mutt is Chaos, a Siberian Husky. He is still with us and is just over 10 years old. He’s thick as mince but we love him.

Tizer and Blue, both staffies, totally different characters but soft as ****e. Blue, the black and white one, is noisy as owt, whines, yelps the lot. Tizer, not a jot, just one little excited “growl” when he sees you after you come in from work and he twizzles a lot. Blue likes to sit on your knee and both enjoy a good head rub, who doesn’t?

This was my first dog Lucy, a staff crossed with something like a whippet. I once watched her running around with a whippet and she very nearly matched it for speed, she was a hell of an athlete and a great friend.

She's buried in the back garden now under a dog rose which seemed appropriate.

New pooch called Jessie another staffy cross this time with a Jack Russell maybe, she looks just like a normal staff but in miniature. Great with the kids she lets my baby boy prod her in the eye without a single complaint. Not that I let him but you can't always stop the buggers can you.

Staffies are so loyal and that’s why they have the reputation. If you train it to hate everything, it will do exactly as its owner wants, they just want to please. My two playfight and even then aggressive as ****, but one shout is all it takes, they quit straight away and come over to you, tail between the legs, as if to apologise. I love em

My Tibetans best mate is a blue Staffie, they are both 6 yrs old we normally bump into them a few times a week, they love a game of catch me if you can...its a shame people swerve Staffies as they have a bad reputation which is a shame...

    Lovley story re Lucy....

Such a miss when they leave us but you have a constant reminder of her....I will be devastated when Wesley eventually departs, he has got me through some tough times re my health, he gets me out of the house every day even on my bad days...

Aye, like I said I was devastated when Emily was run over. I remember calling my mam and telling her and just broke down on the phone. Mam said that one thing any animal coming into our house will be loved unconditionally and have a great life. I know when Chaos goes I’ll be exactly the same. We invest so much into our pets don’t we?

They are like scooby and scrappy doo. The Lab is scared of everything, even ****ing flies. While she shouts at everything acting like she wants to bite their heads off and runs away if they come close

Yeah it was really difficult for me at the time and it still is tbh nearly two years later, less so of course but I do miss her. I have found that getting Jessie afterwards helped, it's fun getting to know her and seeing her own unique personality traits like when she jumps straight into the air in fright when she smells some bird poo <laugh>

It's very similar to the way Wesley gives me the hurry up whilst you sit reading your phone ...
