We will never know if young Dan Neil might have made the difference, shame that, he did in the last two games, but I expected no less from this ultra cautious manager, he has no plan B.

Griggs was a lazy penalty, I’m not too bothered, we should have won. My concern is how Wyke and Gooch subs changed the game. I am no football manager but I’ve said previously that when playing Wyke the ball comes back to us too easily. The last 10 minutes proved it, the only time they carved out any chances

I do not like Parkinson at all.

Not gonna get time deep today as the result doesn’t offend me and o think it may actually be a blessing, but I didn’t like him day 1, I didn’t like him when the season ended and I don’t like him now.

    He’s not a fit.

I’m a bit upset by the final result but our play particularly first half was very good, saying that we only had 3 warm up matches this one was the 4th and i wasn’t that bothered about the result. When we have our 5th warm up game midweek and if we continue playing like we did first half then I won’t be worried when the league starts next week. I do think we need a goal scorer though And quickly

Grigg always seems fragile. That’s the worst possible thing that could have happened to him going into the new season. He needs a goal in the next game.

I’m concerned that players like Maguire and O’Brien might not impact us as much as they could under PP.

If they had mugged us 1-0 with a 94th minute winner in a league game I'd be gutted now. As it was a cup game, I'm not too fussed with the result and more pleased with the performance, particularly first half. League is the top priority this season, the condensed fixtures will take their toll, if Villa roll us over midweek I won't lose any sleep either.

Positive spin 0-0 with a promotion challenging team and we should have won.

All we can expect is more of the same from Parky, so we shall see just what this result means after 5 or 6 games, I hope not, but by then we could be playing catch-up. We do need a striker, Grigg, Wyke and Graham ? do they fit the bill we will soon see.

Maybe that'll be Danny Graham, I'm far from convinced but there was that time in 2003 I was wrong about something so it does happen.

May I be the first on this forum, for this season, to say the words 'Typical Sunderland!'

Nah. I get more concerned when we dont create any chances. We should have scored and should have won but it was a glorified 4th pre season friendly. Bring on the league.

I'm fairly certain with what smug and Magnus have said that we are being taking over and I'm positive that parkinson will not be the manager when it does happen. I cannot see any new owner wanting him and they'll be wanting their own man in

I really hope Grigg comes good. That pen miss might spur him on even more.
