The defence has always been good enough for this league. The problem is going forward, we've only added obrien who's not an out an out striker. We've added no pace, and still lacking someone we can rely on to put the ball in the net. Sounds like a very similar tune to last season. I think we are miles off winning it, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
It's a strange one. I always say that get a good start to the season, go at teams win big etc, go top and we'll stay there, but we never do, Luton and Coventry have the past two season and we seem to drop off when it's in our hands. Realistically, head says, somewhere in the play off places with a suprise package winning the league. Heart, Top with games to spare.lol
Can't decide, get off to a good start which will be difficult then why not, top two isn't beyond us but as has been said our strikers have to start on the front foot and keep going. Tell you better in mid April.
I actually think this will be the hardest season to date for us in this league. There's always dark horses, that and the fact we will be cup finals for the newly promoted/relegated teams, as well as the rest. This combined with takeover malarkey going on, does not equate to a balanced squad, I can't see us escaping this division as long as Donald and co are lurking behind the scenes, BTW I've always held pessimistic views.
I’d love that you know. If I had the choice I would take a final win at Wembley over winning the league, I’d live to have that pure hit on the day. Remember half time v City when we were 1-0 up and the actual floating feeling of leading a cup final, imagine that x 10 to actually win. I’d love to experience that after all the Wembley fails.
Was the most surreal, serene and relaxed of times. I think the fact that we all expected a heavy defeat enhanced it, we were just glad to be there. To this day mind, without that absolute magic rocket from YaYa we had them beat. They were done with ideas. Great players do that.
Always an element of fluke or fortune in those, but you sometimes just have to applaud brilliance. I mean they were battering us but they’d ran out of ideas and it was desperation that made him shoot. The absolute scenes when Fabio scored man, pure carnage. Never gets the credit that finish either was beautifully taken. Lost in the moment.
I’m fairly certain he said it was a cross in the days after the game. It looked class either way, the twat.
Just had to go through the pain of watching it, and looking he does have the shape as if he’s putting it in box. Even that clip for the goal you can see how we were boxing them out defensively, it finished 3-1 but the lads gave more than everything that day there was no shame at all.
