Have heard Hamalinan has gone to Charlton on a free. We have not really played him in the years and years we have had him. So a wage off the payroll, so okay if correct.
I’m not sure Charlie is the right fit now. Dykes does need a foil to pressure defences though. We also need to ensure we have wingers who can put a good balls in from the flanks. New signing Thomas looks promising, but if BOS leaves we will need a replacement. I can’t help feeling that our failures of the past have been in not having providers for our forwards.
Cheers & that means it’s a no go then, I can’t see that move happening & would be very surprised if this rumour has legs
Two players that the club are supposedly considering ................ Queens Park Rangers are casting an eye over former midfielder Tom Carroll, as per West London Sport The 28-year-old featured for the R’s in a 4-3 pre-season defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday afternoon, with Bright Osayi-Samuel, Todd Kane and Osman Kakay scoring for the R’s. Carroll is no stranger to the West London side having joined QPR on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the 2013/14 campaign, featuring 26 times for the club. http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1045250522?-294:802 QPR are among a cluster of clubs weighing up a swoop for West Ham winger Nathan Holland, as per reliable Hammers source ExWHUEmployee. The R’s join the likes of Burnley, Brighton and Burnley in the race to sign the 22-year-old, with a decision yet to be made West Ham’s end on whether to offload him or not. Holland spent last season on loan at League One side Oxford United where he made 12 appearances, scoring three goals. So, from a QPR perspective, do you think this could be an astute signing? Is Holland needed? George Harbey QPR definitely need to add more creativity, flair and goal threat to their midfield now Ebere Eze has left the club to join Crystal Palace, and Holland could be an exciting replacement. He has found game time hard to come by at West Ham since arriving from Everton in 2017, but I think he will be feeling confident heading into this season after an impressive loan spell at Oxford last term, where he netted three times in 12 games for Karl Robinson’s promotion-chasing side. He’s only 22, he’s fast and he’s capable of playing on either flank, and in Mark Warburton’s high-tempo, attacking style of play, he could really thrive and contribute to a lot of goals for the R’s. Mark Warburton has already said that the club won’t look to splash the cash on big-money, high-profile players following Eze’s multi-million pound move to Palace, and bringing in a young, hungry player desperate to make his mark and prove a point on loan would be the type of signing they usually look to make. Holland fits the mould, and he could be a shrewd capture for Warburton and for QPR. http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1045228202?-294:802
Pleased with the signing of Rob Dickie, seemed to be the standout defender in League 1 last season and looked strong in their Play Off Semi Final/Final games post lockdown. The Championship is a step up, but he seems to fit the style of player which Warbs wants at the back alongside Barbet. Masterson as cover will be good for his development. Time will tell with Lyndon Dykes, I'm a bit 50/50 on it, seems robust which might suit this division but have concerns over his goalscoring ability. Pressure on him to hit the ground running and net 10+. Big season aheads for Ilias Chair and Luke Amos, can't help but think we could do with an experienced head alongside them to navigate through the tough games (imagine this is why Ben Watson was linked). We still have one of the best wingers in the league at our disposal in BOS, hopefully he's still motivated to be here or by the prospect of catching the eye for Prem teams. Think the Championship is relatively wide open this season, plenty of opportunity to get Play Off places for a number of teams. Roll on the season.
Matty Cash gone from Florist to Villa for £16 million! I feel shafted over Eze with Cash going for such a fee.
Am I missing something here..... why do I keep reading stuff about Charlie Austin? Is he coming back or is it rubbish?
Going purely on how he has played in the couple of performances recently, he actually looks a decent player. And we always seem to struggle having enough full backs in the squad. However, if he really hasn't been showing anything in training or on loan, maybe it is a good idea to drop the wages. Am I the only one who has a good feeling about this signing? He clearly has ability and has grown since then, with more experience. If we can get him in the right position with the right instructions, he can do well. I think he might be a surprise player this year.
