allegedly Newcastle United: Karl Darlow (Mark Gillespie 70), Javier Manquillo, DeAndre Yedlin (Paul Dummett 60), Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejuene (Federico Fernández 60), Jacob Murphy (Matt Ritchie 70), Isaac Hayden, Sean Longstaff (Daniel Barlaser 70), Christian Atsu (Ciaran Clark 60), Miguel Almirón (Andy Carroll 60), Allan Saint-Maximin (Henri Saivet 75).
It's one of those stories that regardless of who it was you'd laugh. Let's hope we get off lightly and stay up... Maybe get the last laugh
Look at the ****ing state of it. Players who just aren't PL quality - Darlow, Gillespie, Yedlin, Lascelles, Murphy, Manq, Ritchie, Lejeune, Dummett, Barlaser, Atsu, Carroll, Saivet and they're all involved. We're only "missing " Joelinton. Muto's so bad he can't get minutes when Henry Saivet does, for ****s sake. It's a tremendous clusterfuck, even by Ashley's standards. We thought we were scraping the barrel with Bruce, wonder who's going to step in and clean up this shower of **** now? We might as well save some money and just let Justin Barnes take charge.
I think we've been destined for a Sunderland-style collapse for the past couple of years. Third time going down, we won't come up. All of our Championship players who might hang around are getting really bad. Ritchie, Fede, Clark, etc., are all getting too old. I heard rumour that Ritchie had a row with Bruce and Lascelles refused to play the previous game because he wants out.
from NUFC.co.uk Newcastle United were beaten 5-1 by Middlesbrough in a training match at Rockliffe Park on Tuesday. Britt Assombalonga scored twice and Marcus Tavernier was also on target for the home side, but Allan Saint-Maximin pulled one back before half time for Steve Bruce's side. However Neil Warnock's team - whose first competitive fixture of the season comes on Friday when they face Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup - added two more goals in the second period, through Grant Hall and, from the penalty spot, Stephen Walker. Both sides also had a man sent off early in the second half, with United skipper Jamaal Lascelles and Boro midfielder Lewis Wing dismissed after an off-the-ball incident. The two sides will meet again in another behind-closed-doors training match next Monday, this time at the Magpies' Benton training centre. Newcastle United: Karl Darlow (Mark Gillespie 70), Javier Manquillo, DeAndre Yedlin (Paul Dummett 60), Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejuene (Federico Fernández 60), Jacob Murphy Matt Ritchie 70), Isaac Hayden, Sean Longstaff (Daniel Barlaser 70), Christian Atsu (Ciaran Clark 60), Miguel Almirón (Andy Carroll 60), Allan Saint-Maximin (Henri Saivet 75)
Hmmm that's interesting because I did notice and mention how unhappy the players all looked in training... Also rumour today is ritchie being ousted. It's been a while since I've felt so depressed about it all.. Under rafa I was very relaxed.. You knew you'd be safe and not get embarrassed. Bruce has had enough time now and that was showing the back end of last season.. It's just a friendly but it's been getting worse for quite a while now.
It's bound to get worse. Bruce has always gotten worse in every job he's ever had, history always repeats. I hated the football under Rafa, but there was at least a bit of pride about it, some kind of professionalism, and the manager instilled a bit of confidence. Bruce is just a fat knacka who's stolen a living shuffling from mediocre club to mediocre club - including Newcastle. To be honest it's just very Newcastle. It's a dead club run by a ****stain of a human being. Villa - Ellis, Leeds - Bates, Newcastle - Ashley, just another **** in a long line of arseholes.
I have to say that Bruce must be ****ting himself personally right now. I honestly think this season will be the one where we fall apart. We can’t even have a Leyton orient sort of player uprising because they are all shoe lickers. I am actually in a sadistic kind of way weirdly looking forward to the whole place falling to pieces. Ashley deserves all the **** that is probably coming his way. Bruce won’t have any excuses. He’s going to fail on an epic level in front of everyone’s eyes. He can’t even blame it on fans as they won’t be there. I cannot wait for the excuses.
Couldn't agree more and if I'm honest I don't know why I'm pretending to harbour any hope that Bruce's going to come up with anything that produces. I think if he's here long enough this season we will be in the bottom 3 early and never get out.
I think Bruce has alot of friends on the media that will make the excuses for him and he'll happily accept them.. The takeover for example.. From fixture one he'll be offered that one during interviews... Asking if its effected his plans etc.. Of course if its not going well he'll snap that up. Steve Bruce can basically do no wrong and Ashley this season... It'll be the fans that get criticised throughout as usual... I think if anyone had any doubt as to how much newcastle is hated prior to this summer they surely must now have a good understanding of what we're up against
To state the obvious, Bruce is horrendously limited. Next season ASM will be earmarked as the only dangerous player we have and marked out of most games. We then have absolutely ****ing nothing else. Shelvey wants to play balls in behind, we have Carroll/Joelinton. The one winger who can cross - Ritchie - is mostly poor, a try-hard, arm-waving, shouty little mouthpiece. Full backs are disastrously weak, our captain doesn't want to be here. We will be playing continuous hoofball from the likes of Dummett, Fede and Clark. Longstaffs have both gone backwards. Hayden still doesn't want to be here. Hendrick isn't going to change this team. There's no depth, we're still one injury from playing the likes of Atsu. Ashley is looking at it and being told the words he wants to hear - "yes, boss, this is good enough to survive". Charnley might believe it, Bruce might, but they're both morons and are wrong. TV money is dropping, attendances aren't there and the one source of pride for Newcastle - the away fans - aren't even allowed in. Like GG, I'll be looking on from afar with some morbid fascination as to how bad this is all going to get.
I think from the get go we will be in here bottom 6 without a doubt. We will piss about till mid jan and see where we are at and then maybe make some signings to try and salvage something from the season. At the same time covid will make it clear where football is globally and we may have to cash in on whatever players we have that we could sell. Make no mistake this is Ashley’s fault. Takeover aside we have ran this **** show to close to the wire for a long time but it just feels a bit different this time.
The only saving grace we may have is the distinct possibility that Ashley sees the ****storm coming and does in fact sell for a lower fee. There is no takeover happening in a month of Sunday for 350m. It’s more like 260m now and that’s me being sensible. I just have no hope whatsoever for this season. You could list the negatives a mile long and positives are few and far between.
Chris Houghton 5-1 Leyton Orient. I distinctly remember thinking "**** we will be league 2 in no time"
Indeed I've been amazed how many people are saying it's not Ashley's fault.. He wants to sell... He's still responsible and what about the previous 13 years of poor ownership that's lead to this? Also it's worth pointing out he could've sold us to mansour but he was greedy and they went and bought city instead.. God knows how many potentially great owners he's ****ed off in the last 13 years that we don't know about
Good to see Manquillo (@The emerald guard ) and Hayden get 90 minutes under their belt to show what they can do
Warnock treating friendlies like I do on Football Manager. You can get everyone's moral to the max by winning them all and have a great season with minimal effort. Its a science. No wonder Warnock always gets his teams up.
