I have my ticket for Dorchester Town v Bristol City XI on Friday night I think a maximum of 300 allowed in the ground (they had a game last night which sold out) Can't believe how excited I am over seeing what will essentialy be our Academy Team But COYR!!!!!
I've just arrived at my Cornish bolthole (Perranporth) the sun is shining, the sea is blue, the scenery is......oh enough of that, guys have a great match, enjoy the experience of participating in a live match, hope we get a good result and the football is fast, furious and entertaining, COYR..
I've had my ups and downs, I have a beautiful family, Mrs Wiz and I have just celebrated our golden wedding aniversary, we have got a new manager, I love Cornwall. Living the dream, you bet I am.
Mrs R&W retired this month but I’ve got a few years to go. I’ve just made an offer on a flat in Gibraltar which, if accepted, will eventually be our ‘place in the sun’. We’ll have to rent it out in the meantime though. We wanted to use her retirement sum wisely so it wouldn’t rot away in a bank somewhere! Not quite living the dream, but getting there!!!
friend of mine has a "flat" in Gib … say flat, its his property and has long term renters in the other 2 … one family been there 3 generations! when he passes on will leave it to them they have looked after his 5 rooms! for free for over 40 years he only rents it out for about 10 weeks a year … he goes there for about 20 + weeks total ...loves it has balcony he says that has views and late afternoon evening sunshine seen a thousand spectacular sunsets he says!!!!
I might pop down to the beach today (5 min walk) and bag my self about half a dozen 30lb salmon which will be cold smoked. Then perhaps I might take my non-existing boat further out to see the Orcas and other whales and fishy things before returning to our mansion by the ocean and having the chef cook something local washed down by a few bottles of B.C.'s world class wines. How about you? P.S. Most of this is untrue except for the beach and the rest can be done if youv'e got the dosh. Stay safe and enjoy the season As a side note, what are some of you doing during the dark winter days (other than football) because I am building from scratch a 4 foot long model of the TITANIC but won't sell tickets until I've fixed all the leaks.
He must be overlooking the marina then, to get the evening sunshine. Our place (if we manage to get it) also looks over the marina but we aren’t very high up. Seriously love Gibraltar. I wasn’t keen at first but it’s now grown on me to almost all-consuming!!
Dorchester Town 1 Bristol City XI 4 (HT 1-1) Very enjoyable evening - awful weather conditions, but Dorchester's 3G pitch meant all was ok Our lads got the ball down and played - which they needed to do as Dorchester were quite a big side In the end the superior fitness told and the second half was very comfortable
An incredibly young BCFC team won 4-1 against a very big stature wise and physical Dorchester team, there were some very tidy young players out there tonight, who competed well, it could have a higher scoreline several very good chances missed. The final 30 minutes after several substitutions class and fitness began to tell and City began to turn the screw and looked dangerous with every attack. Very enjoyable night.
The first 2 goals were own goals but came from some really good play and 2 sublime hard/low driven balls into the 6 yard box, the 3rd goal was a very well worked team goal but the 4th was something very special from Louis Britton, who came on in the 2nd half and looked special
glad you enjoyed it ….. I waited for the cricket to start!! and almost finished another chapter of my book … 4 down [ longest and most complicated ] and just about another 6 chapters [ shorter and easier ] to go … covid in a way has been kind was expecting to have completed 1 by now!
Would happily accept all the points you made, except the salmon. I know how hard it is to catch one 5lb fish let alone six 30 lb fish. Wont stop me heading north on Monday for a few days stood in the Nith though. I live in hope.
You need the big blue briny to catch the big ones and I regularly watch in disbelief when I see someone land a 20+ lb salmon sitting in a chair on the beach. Still if the salmon is stupid enough to bring his own deckchair then he's heading for trouble. Sockeye, Coho, Chinook, Chum or Pink for you?
