I was at that match . . . . one of the best away games ever If my memory serves me right, we thought that we'd been promoted until 'ages' after the final whistle when the news came through that Stoke had won 1-0 against some ****er with a very late goal to deny us . . . . bastards My main memory from the game was after the final whistle, when one of our lads (pissed like most of us were, I presume - well I was, like I am now, I think, thanks to beer then and rum & black now) in the stand behind the goal to our right fell from the top tier . . . . he must have had a bit of a headache afterwards As Mary Hopkin used to say . . . . those were the days, my friend
