Regarding the social bubbles, I've heard and read a lot of interpretations of them by other fans, its fairly ambiguous which I hope will be sorted out in time, but its not a great start. Whatever your personal views on social distancing I'd be highly surprised if clubs were allowed to sit people from different households directly behind/next to others. You are really close and that 1/2m distance is clearly a government model to be followed.
I'm trying to picture the match day under social distancing when we eventually get back. Pre match, dEspite the massive drop in attendances, I suspect Gemmels will be relatively full, how will that be managed? They could open the function room, so maybe could social distance. Not sure how they'll manage the bar. How long will we be queueing with 2m distancing to get into the ground? Will we have to wear a mask? What impact will the seat between bubbles have on the crowd? Who's going to police that? It will spread the remaining crowd thinly, how does that impact on any atmosphere? If everyone has to stay in their bubble, are they going to be able to open the bars? There's a lot of unknowns there. I'm still dismayed about our post lockdown performance. The writing was on the wall when Ehab was writing to the EFL pleading to stop the season before the restart. Nevertheless, he refused to offer extensions to his captain and vice captain and several others.. Upto that point, I genuinely believed our post Christmas slump (apart from the obvious B and G). was partly down to injuries. We returned with a fully fit squad. What followed was really quite surreal, in very surreal times. The lack of fight we showed compared to every other team in the bottom half was humiliating and embarrassing. I cannot fathom out the inflexibility our manager showed when it was obvious to viewers what was sharpening tacticallly. Our owner announces we are a 433 club, which somehow sort of, kinda explains a little bit of McCanns apparent stubbornness. His loyalty in blindly following the owners instructions are rewarded by keeping his job despite an incredible 6 points out of 60. As I said before, the last 6 months, have been surreal, Watching live games via streams, played in empty stadiums, added to this. City's spectacular slump, including a record equalising defeat, (which had Wigan not declared, could have been double), at the time seemed was again totally surreal, but it was in a ****ing mad world. Its only aa we return to some sort of normality and the release of new fixtures (always a reality check for a relegated team) that I'm getting my head around the end of the season. I feel really angry about it and now have to decide whether I want to continue.
This is exactly why I won't be going for the foreseeable. They can sit you in bubbles but what can they realistically do about the concourse and getting in/out of the stadium?
From the meeting notes memberships cancelled to date stands at almost 2,000. 6,600 memberships remain once all the notice periods have been completed. I think in good old Ehab fashion that 6,600 figure will also be inflated. What’s the usual inflation figure - 20%?
Do we know how many will be allowed in to stadiums yet? I thought I'd seen 25%capacity mentioned. 6,600 would be more than that.
I think you’re right. I think they will probably have a ballot system so potentially you could attend 2 games out of 3 as an example. The missing game would have to be a streaming option. No idea if that would be gratis or chargeable. I can’t see any other way around it. I doubt they’d have casual ticket sales as it’s impossible to manage an unknown number of potential day trippers. Unless they made a fixed number of tickets available on a first come first served basis.
No, it's members only.... I've even been asked when submitting my bubble group details if I'd be prepared to move from E7.
I have heard that clubs will stagger arrival times for matches to avoid long queues and groups. Can you imagine in the winter if you have to be in the ground an hour and a half before kick off?
They said that could happen. It is obvious why that could be necessary. Other clubs are saying the same. It isn't a case of the Allams trying to make life difficult in this instance.
Easy, no bars open inside the ground and you have to wear a mask on the concourse but not in the stadium. The outside bars will be open and I believe they are looking at opening the away bar for us.
Then everyone has to stand as you pass and risk the wrath the sit down, shut brigade frightened they might miss us scoring. Naive, optimistic fools.
Somebody is bored this morning! 3 quoted posts, I'm flattered. 1) Yes I am worried about a virus that could easily kill my wife. 2) I didnt say anything about an extra couple of hundred people being more dangerous, I said if the rules are 25% then we would have too many members for them all to be ALLOWED to go. Unless you think we should just let them all in and if the government try to fine the club or stop fans entering they'll change their mind when we point out it's just a couple of hundred? 3) I haven't been shopping or to any busy places since March. I've worked at home, shopped online and gone for walks in the middle of nowhere. Not that it is even slightly relevant to anything at all. Is that ok?
The government advice was 30%, but it's going to vary a lot from club to club. I think we've had so many cancellations, that I doubt there'll be any issues getting all the members in (particularly when you consider that they include a lot of family groups that don't need to distance at all).
