Too soon for me. He'll definitely finish his career there but he's still got so much to offer a top team. But it's Messi's choice of course. But it would be a real shame if he didn't continue playing at the highest level for a couple more years.

I think he'll be wanting to win a fifth CL to tie up with Ronaldo before considering going home. Think a lot of this stems from the fact that he feels Barca won't be competitive for a while.

Maybe it's just because I can't imagine him in any other team, but he's 33 now and I can see him going back to Newell's for a couple of years and then calling it a day. Think that would be quite a nice way for his career to play out. Really hope he doesn't chase the money at PSG or MCFC for example.

I don't think City would be purely a money thing tbh. If he comes to England at 33 and tears it up helping them win their first CL it will only add to his legacy.

The Man City blue is also similar to Argentina's blue so I can see him going to them. Or Coventry.

Portsmouth play in light blue these days but I can't see him going there. Possibly China or USA if his demands are beyond the reach of the obvious candidates.

    Leeds with Biesla?

Either way, I look forward to watching Bertie nutmeg him before cutting inside and curling one with his right foot into the top bins.

Think I read somewhere that he and / or his family had recently bought property in Milan. Could just be a coincidence but Inter seem to think they’re in with a genuine shout.

So, on the Harry Maguire situation: a court system that can go from formalized charges to a guilty verdict in 24 hours isn't much of a court system. Literally impossible to prepare a proper defense in that timeframe.

Messi to City looks like it could be on if he moves.

So Maguire shouldn't have any complaints then.

He would have felt right at home having a crap defence <laugh>

My City supporting mate is 100% against this. Thinks it will kill what team spirit they have, and is far more concerned with them getting a world class centre back over a showy signing.

Tbf it is defence they have most needed to sort out for a while. Would be a massive outlay for a position they don't really need to add to. That said it's Messi. And I want to see him in the PL, and Man City are one of the few possibilities + the Guardiola connection so I kinda hope he goes there.

Totally agree,as wonderful a player as Messi is, they need to replace Kompany.....cost them the title last season IMO.

Cbs are easy to find, Messi is a once in a lifetime talent.. They have to go for him if he's available. I don't think Jesus is at the level they need, so it does make sense

I don’t think they need to do that..... a good defender might have been in a better position to have stopped Che’s worldy. I guess Messi would be out of position when it happens again.

Sign him up City and give him the no.5 shirt

World class CB's like City need are far from easy to find.

Didn’t he sign for Barca when he was like 12 and move over there? I doubt he has much connection to any Argentinian side really.
