Funny one that. Mind we’ve all seen players with pure Hollywood stats at reserve level fail, can be 2 ways. Maybe the confidence of being with the first team has brought him along, see if he can sustain it.
We were a pretty poor side tbh. Hopefully he can play a big part this season and will save us a few quid on transfer fees and wages. Him and Diamond have definitely filled out physically from the games I saw last season.
Everyone who’s seen a bit of Diamond seems to rate him, so that’s promising. I love the idea of having lads through the academy on the side, we all do. Nice to see.
not a bad game all in all, our new striker got a couple and looked a bit hungrier although at times he gives up on a chase too easy...again, the young lads did more than enough to at least earn some starts this season, leddy was livelier in the centre, best ball of the game out to onien that lead to our 2nd. stick by what i said on sarrada, it may well be pre-season but the signs are there of a much more cohesive unit...a lot of our problems were self inflicted with passes going astray, those passes are coming off now and finding team mates...another good work out against another side that gave us a different challenge.
Mumba played there last season. Not sure about the younger age groups. I'd defina be prioritising that position though. Wouldn't mind 2 new RBs. Sell McLaughlin and use onein in CM
I didn’t rate Mumba at all personally, so if he was being horned in there suggests there’s not a lot behind him.
I do rate him and highly, but he was, and never will be, a full back imo., I hope he is played in midfield by his new club, if they don't they will have wasted their money, and possibly the lads future.
I just didn’t see it, but my viewing was very limited of course. I hope he does well, as I do any young lad leaving the club.
Mumba always seemed to get targeted with the big diagonal ball by the opposition teams. I never thought he looked comfortable at RB. Hope the lad has a good career.
Diamond and neill very positive showings think Scowen and Hume have looked sharp and feeney looks like adequate cover at the minute. fair play to wyke putting his horror miss from Saturday behind him as well, his second goal today showed a bit of calm when temptation could have been a first time follow up. we need pace up front desperately and need to play at a higher tempo than the first 60 mins. given how critical wing backs are to our style of play we need to look at recruits in those areas and perhaps someone to put pressure on maguire and Gooch to keep performances at a high level.
