I wonder how much the Donald McCain cash machine will be paying out at Bangor today All races sponsored by his barn. Current season 4 wins/12 runners 33% +11.5 Last 5 Years 63 Wins 269 Runners 23% +92.45 Get in Robin 12:30 Beach Break & Knock House 1:35 Grey Day Wazowzki The Cattlejobber 2:05 Armattiekan 2:35 Middlebrow 3:35 Good Luck if you play
Catterick 155 6yrold snookered had a good run at cd lto and with soft conditions and rain forecast 4/1looks fair the down side is the 7lb claimer . But thats probs why snookered is 4s.
He had a false dawn last month with a few winners , but they seem to have dried up , no doubt they will be trying tommorow , shame we can’t go .........
Couple for me at Bangor.. 1.35 - Soldier to Follow 8/1 3.05 - Captain Speaking 12/1 (Non Runner) No pun intended on the selections either! Both e/w and e/w double. Have a good day all.
That card at Bangor is sure to look very different come race time , we have heavy rain forecast for about eight hours , so will take some stamina to finish those races .......Stand By Me 305 @14/1 appeals for his shrewd handler , over in yorkshire Jan De Heem in the 1 35 , loves this course , handles soft and is more likely to place @ 25/1 . Sonnet Rose in the yarmouth 5 30 is also priced big at 16/1 . Of course , all these may just be out for a spin , but i’ll put them in a wee wager .........two bob jonah
Bangor looks like it is going to be a proper test of horse and jockey, and we have already seen horses being withdrawn because of the storm. In the first race I wanted to take on Timoshenko but he has now come out, it looks a match now between FOB Cool Destination and Scudamores Some Chaos. It isn't a betting heat for me. The second race I have backed Coulances who looks the one horse in the race that shouldn't mind the softer ground. Le Havre as a sire on soft and heavy ground is 17% win strike rate and 46% place strike rate, which is much the best in the race. The Skelton second favourite has breathing issues and Fergals horse doesn't look the type to go on the ground on sire statistics (5% win strike rate and 18% place). That leaves just the Mccain horse which is of interest given the course and connections. She however looks to need a trip, even if the ground will help slow the others down here. The other horses I have backed are 3.05 Grand Coureur who has heavy ground form at the track and importantly he gets Paddy Brennan doing the steering. Paddy might be agricultural at times in the saddle but he does his homework and will know where the best ground is. He has already shown this season that he can outwit the others by taking a different route. Similar positives can be given for Garo De Juilley in the 1:35. Another for Paddy Brennan and another with heavy ground form, he returns to UK racing over hurdles and that should suit given how slow and ponderous he could be over fences. If this becomes a battle then I fully expect this horse to be in the finish, even off top weight. He is a classy horse and shouldn't have an issue carrying weight either. He has been heavily punted so the price this morning of 7/2 doesn't look overly appealing.
Whilst Ben Haslam is in form, going to have a speculative punt on his 2 at Catterick.. 12.50 - Holy Chalice 100/1 2.55 - Nataleena 7/1 E/w singles and double
16:05 Bangor - Mini Crest (Could be a real stayer. Good chance for Dickie Johnson to ride another winner. 11/4 best price at time of writing.) Edit: Yep, got that one wrong, newcomer wins it well!
