    After the full run out in the reserves, Peter Beardsley had this to say:

    "I thought Santon was excellent,
    He very rarely gives the ball away, joins in well, he's two footed.
    Another feature of his performance was his clever footwork in tight positions,He's very clever. He's a good footballer, there's no doubt about it.
    To be a right-footed left-back, you've got to have confidence and he has.
    But he's two-footed, he's very two-footed. I'd say possibly his right's stronger, but overall I'd say he's very two-footed and I think the manager's made a good decision there to buy him."

    I think Santon will be a great player for us. We are getting very little media credit for how well we have started. They also forget this is without both Ben Arfa and Santon who we spent £11mill on.

    i cant belive how good our team is, best weve had is years. to think we spent 32m on owen, Boumsong and Luque but only 14m on Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Santon and Ba

    What a relief following his injury the other week. I'd have him as a second half substitute which I'm sure Pards will do- there's no need to change a winning formula.

    I think he'll be a good signing. It's been said that he's every bit as quick as Jose was, so hopefully he can link up just as well with Jonas.
