First game against the scousers and if Phillips still not fit we see Struijk playing his first game in the Prem against the World Champions and on telly, no pressure then.

    we need some players in

Totally understand your thinking Doc and think that White or an equally good replacement is the bare minimum. However, we have spent years bemoaning the loss of our best players, especially the youngsters. If we sign every Carlos Kickaball under the sun for big money and still go down, we will not only lose the best youngsters if they are pushed aside but will have a lot of silly contracts tied around our necks (Huddersfield?). At the risk of being shot down, I really don't mind the thought of playing yo-yo between the Prem & Championship if the likes of Shackleton, Davis, Struijk, Poveda etc are given a real go and the money made is constantly invested back into the Academy, young first team potential like Gelhardt, Elland Road and wherever our training facilities end up being.

Having said that, I actually think we will be fine anyway.

Agree with all of that except for the yo-yo bit. As it stands now we are worse off than last season as we only have a kid to replace Ben White, and as good or as potentially good Struijk or Casey are going to be they wont be as good as White so feel we need a new player in there. I also feel we need a new striker as Roberts will never be Bamford and good old Pat will need a hand with goals. The rest I can live with knowing that Poveda is potentially better than Costa and Pablo and we do have kids coming through.

It is however a big ask for kids to backfill right from the off in the hardest league in the world :emoticon-0148-yes:

Mane, Firminio & Salah v Cooper as things stand at the moment is a sobering thought.

To be positive about our first game. We've got to go to Anfield at some point so why not first game? Not many teams get anything there so it's a freebee. It just might be better to play them earlier than later.
The Fulham game is much more important but after the first month we should know what kind of season it's going to be.

Even as we stand I think we should be able to compete with more than half the teams in the Prem so I see any signings as a bonus.

Do we have a definitive pronounciation on Stru
The lines between real life and satire are becoming increasingly blurred with the EFL. Did anything happen to Derby when they **** in the changing room?

I thought this was a joke when I read it, so I checked and it's true. And Leeds have accepted the charge (whatever that means?). Unreal, simply unreal

Another absolute joke. I'm sure I remember those twats celebrating by doing the binocular thing and trying to wind the club and fans up. <grr>

All the Leeds haters will just love this, just wait until the “Pundits” wake up and stick in their oars.

I was expecting some terrible behaviour, Bielsa is not going to be cut out for the Premier League, sadly you need to be able to handle those who are not humble if you wish to compete at the top

I think Eire was upset with how brb handled Glory, WJ I’d imagine the same. Hopefully they’ll post again, both valued members. I think Eire has made a couple of posts in the Jokes thread

My biggest concern is a replacement for Pablo. I wish we’d gone and got a marquee style replacement for him then with the change brought a new CB
