I am getting a bit worried that we haven't signed anyone yet. We need a bigger squad and I hope we don't leave it until the 11th hour!!!

Or 14 seconds past the hour

It would certainly have been nice to get a bit of business done early. We do always do our deal pretty quietly though, so I'm going to hope that deals are progressing nicely under the radar. Although I've been hoping for that scenario a couple of transfer windows and bugger all happened.

Maddison signed a new 4 year deal last month so it is very likely he will be staying.

We a linked with a number of youngsters - 20yo winger Francisco Trincao & 20yo CB Jean-Clair Todibo from Barcelona, 20yo winger Dwight McNeil from Burnley and 22yo striker Odsonne Edouard from Celtic.

Being reported that Man Utd are sniffing around Kasper who would be open to a move - we are linked with Sergio Rico from Sevilla in case that happens.

Rico has been on loan at PSG and only made 2 appearances for them. The previous season he was on loan at Fulham, they conceded 81 goals and were relegated. Doesn't fill me with confidence.

I don't understand that Kasper would be open to going United. For a man who's desperately tried to be out of his father's shadow, going to United would be the worst move. I don't get it from Uniteds end either. He's not better than De Gea and if they're looking long term they've Henderson.

No doubt Chelsea are interested in Chilwell but the spike in it being a ‘hot topic’ on social media since yesterday appears to be from some speculation from a non reliable source which has been picked up by the mainstream media so it really doesn’t appear to be at the stage it has been exaggerated.
Agree it seems rather quiet, if Chilwell stays I think a centre half and right winger for the first team would be the main needs, a new forward would such as Edouard would be a bonus. Can’t see anything in the Kasper to Man Utd talk but Henderson comes the other way or f*** off!

Lots of talk on Twitter that we are going all in for a £50m swoop for Lewis and Buendia

Leicester City and Aston Villa are rivalling Italian side Atalanta for 27-year-old Marseilleand France winger Florian Thauvin, who had an unsuccessful spell at Newcastle United between 2015 and 2017. (Tutto Mercato - in Italian)

would love this one to happen

Think Schmeichel has been used as a smoke screen to get Henderson to sign a new contract with them, Schmeichel may be a Man U fan, but have the upmost respect for him only interested in going if hes their No.1

Being reported that Chilwell will be going to Chelsea for £45m + £5m addons - a good chunk of change but much less then the £80m that we wanted and it seems like Tagliafico will be around the same amount.

Bulgarian international CM Kristiyan Malinov has joined OH Leuven and said in his first interview that he joined because they have the same owners as us.

We are linked with wingers David Brooks from Bournemouth and Florian Thauvin from Marseille.

Slimani is wanted by Rennes for around £7m.

I’d like to think we’d hold out for more with Chilwell. Chelsea seem desperate to sign him and he’s contracted for another 4 years. Man Utd stumped up for Maguire last year in the same situation.

Apparently us not qualifying for the Champions League is the reason for the drop in valuation - not sure if it was a clause in his contract or anything.

PSG want Soyuncu and are willing to offer around £55m - he might have the same clause as well...

I see. There’s probably valuation clauses in contracts nowadays to make it easier for them to move.

Having non qualifying for Champions League as a clause would be far too risky for us, don't see that being the case. Remembering we aimed for top six for only the second time. I think 80mil was always a pipe dream even with a long contract. Post Covid people aren't going to spend that type of money on a fullback.

Tbh for £50m I’d rather keep him - despite all this bashing he is an academy graduate, Young, English and the first choice national fulll back. You could easily get another 10 seasons of a top left back out of him.

Not sure about this. How happy are we when he is named in the side, cover only surely? Does it mean we dont have money to spend? Better news is Maddisons contract extension, now that is good news.

From what I've read today both the club and mendy were happy to go their separate ways this summer but with COVID it's made selling, seeking and signing players more difficult.

So for me, he can do a job for us, not first choice but adequate for cover and with the number of games to cover this season we'll need extra options.

Much happier with the Maddison extension.
