I think he will get a more attacking role with Eze going, and hopefully get a bit more confidence with a permanent, your the main man contract. Unfortunately will be easy fodder for the boo boys

This, from Amos, I like to read:

"Last year, I came here on loan, played games and really enjoyed the opportunity that the gaffer gave me. For him to bring me back and to be here for another three years – I’m really looking forward to pushing on and doing well. It’s an amazing group here, I’ve made some really good friends – as soon as I arrived, I was made to feel very welcome. Having a good group and the opportunity to play is all you can really ask for. I think last year was about getting used to the level. Now that my injury is behind me and a year of Championship football is, too, I think I can kick on and show everyone what I can do. I don’t think I showed half of what I am capable of last year. Hopefully I can impress everyone this season – I’m excited to get going.”

It was nothing to do with fitness, position or adjustment IMO. Simply that he appears incapable of thinking positively about the game. No doubt he has been coached into this uber negative mindset somewhere along the way but I just don't see how he changes such an entrenched part of his approach. It's a particular worry that after a full 12 months watching the lad Ferdinand and Warburton saw enough to bring him back on a three year deal. Not the kind of football or footballer I expect to see at QPR.

As said else where, I thought we were befginning to see the real Amos...playing positively and quietly get the job done...so I was happy until WBA second goal when he and Kakay got in a mess. Both their fault...but Kakay raced back and tried to undo his mostake...Amos threw his hands up in the air.

The different attitude, said it all.
If we can knock that out of him, he will do OK...more a Luongo character than an Eze, but that be OK

Think Amos could be a good signing at a reasonable price. He was excellent pressing, moving fast over short distances to steal balls from opponents playing it around at the back early on last season, when he played a forward midfield role. Dont really know why we more or less stopped doing that pressing and moved Amos back, but hopefully now he will get this role again.

I wasn't enamoured by him either, but this is what I'd say in his defence...

...for the first time in my life I've had a serious knee injury. I ran the 2019 Ealing Half Marathon and my right knee did not thank me. Tried to go too fast and trained harder than my body was ready for, and my patella tendon went. I was in physio for six months and despite regular strengthening exercises it still buckles occasionally one year on. I've got back to running in the last few months but I have to be very careful. When I attempted to play five aside with mates my mind was focused 80% on my knee and 20% on the game I was playing. And I'm just your average idiot whose income doesn't depend on how well my knee functions.

My experience in the last year has given my a very different perspective on footballers with injuries so I completely buy that last year could have been hugely impacted by recovery from an injury like that.

I'm at least willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, and hope others will too.

    I like you, Jeff :emoticon-0115-inlov

I also expect you’d have had a better impact on our midfield last year than young Luke. I’m happy to give him the benefit of the doubt as the post above yours suggests as frankly we have no choice and I’m not much of a boo-er but I’m not going to pretend he was any better than he was last season.

I’ve never boo our team or players off, ok we have off days & more so recently, I can’t say I’ve enjoyed some of his displays but also he was in & out of side with injuries so we never saw the consistency we hoped he would produce, I think it’s a good signing & warbs to work on his play

How often was Eze the brunt of Loftus Road last season, people forget that cos he scored a couple of worldies and will get us some decent cash. Ultimately fans are fickle and Amos will get the same treatment, shame cos there is probably a very good player in there somewhere.

Refreshing to see the club adopt a transfer policy and stick with it. Thomas, Amos, and presumably Dykes all 23/24 years of age, we own them, we can develop them, they will have re-sale value.

Can’t stress how important it is to move away from loan deals, we’ve been far too reliant on them. Should only ever be when it’s a last resort.

Maybe Amos felt upset at being dropped down a level to begin with and thought he should be playing at the top level. Now Spurs have let him go he may finally realise this is the level he is and that he needs to work hard to prove himself again. If Eze goes to the premier it may show Amos that he can still get back to the top level. Even better if he does that with us.
