With stoute now in proper form , Prince Imperial 7/1 this morning 4 20 pont looks a handicap lurker , miss doyle on top , i expect to see a performance today !
What are they up to? ACQUISITOR 5.05 Chepstow 25/1 made his debut at Bath yesterday and if you watch the race he was most definitely doing his best work at the finish after the penny had taken a long time to drop. Running a 2yo two days running seems like utter madness to me and I guess the most logical outcome here is that he will be a non-runner. The plot gets a little thicker though as the whole racecard at Chepstow today is sponsored by racing syndicate Hope Eden Racing and in fact this juvenile race is the "hopeeden.co.uk Syndication With Ali Stronge Median Auction Maiden Stakes", Hope Eden Racing own Acquisitor and he is trained by Ali Stronge so maybe he might take his chance. He is out of a sprint winning juvenile mare and is by 6f sire Due Diligence so should certainly be suited by the trip.
Its like a bell has gone off. In the ten minutes after posting this the horse has been cut by seven of the bookies on Oddschecker. Its like the whole syndicate was told to start getting on 07:45. Still plenty of 22/1 around. Interesting.
The yard have one other runner today in the race after this one. Illustrious Spirit 20/1. Was also out yesterday at Bath. Finished a close 3rd. If both take their chances again today then we could have a very nice ew double
Also at Chepstow I believe there is a slight bias favouring runners drawn high. Acquisitor is drawn highest in stall 12 and will have the rail. (assuming he breaks well enough).
In the 3.20 Ponty REVOLVER will be trying to complete the 6 timer but I think today will not be his day. I hoping the winner will be FRANKENSTELLA 2/1 with SDS on board. A winner by 7 lengths over this cd last time he also has a significant weight advantage going over this 2 mile race.
Small stakes win lucky 63/acca: 3:10 Chester - Lincoln Park 10/3 3:40 Chester - Bossipop 7/2 3:50 Ponte - Redaina 6/1 4:10 Chester - Powerallied 7/2 4:40 Chester - Tonyx 7/1 6:55 Lingfield - Redemptive 7/1 And one in an ew single 12:15 Ponte - Mr Lauda 20/1
Ali Stronge hasn't ever turned a horse out to run the next day, however she has done so with horses after 3 days. She has a very good record with horses with a turnaround of less than 7 days (7 from 14) but 5 of those 7 were winners last time out.
Morning Playing in the Without market in the 4.10 Chester on Mutabaahy @ 7-2 & Boudica Bay @ 5-1...without Militia 1pt on both with William Hill
2.20 Pontefract A wide open affair, where solid arguments could be made for several. My angle into the race was through Many A Star, who won his first race after being gelded. That looked a personal best and I feel he has a chance of improving to follow up from the 4 lbs higher mark. Breath Of Joy is tipped in plenty of places but has been running at 7F and now drops to 6F. Phuket Power has some good runs but looks from his profile as more of an each-way prospect than win only. Star In The Making also drops to 6F from 7F but she looked last time out as if this was a necessary move after weakening in a decent looking 7F contest at Newmarket last time. Benefit Street got off the mark at Thirsk last time and Karl Burke is in good form but the handicapper has shoved 7 lbs more on the back of the gelding who didn't see a racecourse until 15 months after he was gelded. Many A Star was worth a play in my opinion at 13/2 in a very tricky one to be confident about and I also had a reverse forecast with Star In The Making, who should be suited back at the 6F she was only beaten a neck over when last trying the trip. 2.20 Pontefract Many A Star 13/2 Many A Star/Star In The Making (Don Revie, Reverse Forecast)
Tried to post last night when it was as big as 16s average 12s but the good old 5g wouldnt work in ceredigion lol
I don't think Many A Star liked the Pontefract track. He was involved in a bit of argy bargy early on and didn't seem to handle the turn. When he straightened up coming home he started to run on well and got up late for third place but the 1-2 were gone by then. Breath Of Joy handled the drop in trip with aplomb and Benefit Street has run well from the 7 lbs higher mark. I'll give Many A Star another go next time and feel he will do better on a different track.
