Why do Leeds need Stanciu, then?

As good as Pablo Hernandez is, it would be foolish to ignore the fact he is 35-years-old now and Leeds are unlikely to get much more out of him past the end of next season.

Stanciu is valued at £7million and could be a good, low-cost replacement for Hernandez as he’s at the prime of his career and clearly able to step it up against the big-boys, as soon in his display versus Dortmund last October.

He is someone who could light up Elland Road with his performances in the Premier League next season, adding a real killer edge to Bielsa’s already-fine-tuned attack.

Stanciu, 27, scored four goals and supplied 12 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions last term while playing in the No 10 role for Slavia Prague.

The former Anderlecht ace is also a Romania international who’s earned 37 caps and scored 10 goals for his nation.


Stanciu’s displays in the No 10 role for Romania have seen him compared to legends like Gheorghe Hagi, with him speaking out about the comparisons back in 2016.

As quoted by DigiSport, he said: “Don’t compare me to Hagi and [Adrian] Mutu anymore, they are unique!”

 

I bet there are a lot of things Bielsa and Orta look at when selecting target players as Bielsa wont want someone to disrupt the dressing room. No big time charlies, no selfish prats, side before self types only but also wanting to learn and most importantly be aware that Leeds under Bielsa dont knock off and go play golf, they do some double sessions, some late sessions, they have weight targets and get weighed every morning and they are tracked so analysts can see how many miles they cover every ........ hard work every day will bring rewards
