I don’t usually complain about hot days, but the apartment block I live in is so well insulated, I can’t get the temperature on the thermostat, in my apartment, below 27C. Could do with a thunderstorm to ease the humidity.
Really missing the air conditioning units I have in Spain.

My walking group the Mendip Meanderers went for our first walk since early March this morning. 6.3 miles in 3 and a half hours doesn’t sound much but I don’t ever remember walking in such relentless, humid heat before. We walked the hills around Ditcheat, home of Paul Nicholls’ stables. The Manor House Inn, where we finished and had lunch, has one of the bars named after Denman, the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, and great rival of his stable-mate Kauto Star who won the Gold Cup twice.

The heat was like a wall of heat wasn’t it? Stifling. My ride was so much slower than normal

I read in the news a new type of dinosaur has been found at Shanklin beach thought to be part of the T. Rex group. Could it be R. Mogg? Hasn't been sighted for ages, searches along the Jurassic coast fruitless.

We managed a walk Sunday in the New Forest. But only because I picked one with a lot of shade and no hills. Finished at the Red Shoot for a cold beer. Nice <cheers>

I’m not clear on how shutting roads, around Bedford Place, can be of help to local businesses.
If you are reliant on a car, for a variety of reasons, and can’t park near the local shops, wouldn’t it make you drive to a location where you can park closer to the shops?
Closing the roads won’t make any real difference to those who live close enough and who already walk to the shops.
Only a temporary measure, so far, but hopefully businesses will have a say in what happens in the future.

Edit. Car parks still available so maybe not as big a problem.

Donald Trump says that Biden's running mate is as bad as Pocahontas....wow, as bad as that. If I was going to denigrate a woman I didn't like I would liken her to....well, almost anybody else.<laugh>

Nasty looking incident in Scotland. Train derailment near Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire.

I hope @AberdeenSaint and family are ok.
