Surely some teams might be thinking wow he can get up to speed with a car he is unfamiliar with with little running.

Maybe Red Bull might find this beneficial?

On a series note is the hybrid era the most boring era in f1, Hamilton fans will say no obviously but he's such a car advantage baring in 1st half of 2017 and 2018 then Mercedes dominated both 2nd halfs of the season.

There's not a huge amount of space left for him for next year. Red Bull would be his best shot but would be a massive change in direction for the extremely stubborn Red Bull team.

Things must be pretty awkward in the Tracing point debrief. The stand in driver comfortably beating the bosses son.

Stroll will just open his big book of excuses <laugh><laugh><laugh>
As Hulk said in the interview Sunday is the really important one. It would be so nice to see him on the podium on Sunday. Not sure tracking Point have the strat skills though. They haven''t any experience of being so close to the front really other than the odd fluke.
It will be interesting, not at the front obviously.

Plenty of Hamelots (including myself) agree that the fight at the front is as dull as dishwasher. It's nice as a supporter that he's getting the results, but I'm pretty sure most of us would savor it much more if there was a closer fight at the front.

Not Hamilton or Mercedes fault though, it's the likes of Red Bull, Ferrari and Macca who just haven't got their crap together. Blame them!

Seeing colour is not itself racist in my view, although I don't see colour. Racism is not only Black. It is for this reason i believe some are not going on one knee.
The French don't like the English (whoops, that was racist against the Scots, Welsh and Irish), is that racist? I was born in Wales so i think I can get away with that or is that racist against the English?

    First para is serious.

Haas have surely got to be looking at Perez and Hulkenburg for next year? That's both cars 0.5 in seconds a lap faster, finishing 40% more races, and more sponsorship money. I don't see any reason to keep Grosjean or KMag with that pair potentially available.

Think Hulk's going to need some luck or shenanigans to get above P4 tomorrow. He's on the same strategy as the Mercs, and Verstappen probably has a stronger strategy. Assuming he can establish himself in P3/4 early on, he could do with a safety car which nullifies Verstappen's tyre advantage. I don't think Hulk has the familiarity with the car to take a "tyre whisperer" approach to strategy.

Grosjean managed 36 laps last weekend on the hardest tyre available this weekend, so probably a 2 stopper for most?

Their dominance is greater than that of Ferrari or Red Bull in the past, but I find it so hard to fault them? As far as I can recall, there's never been a hint that their car was illegal/dubious, they've not been handed a massive advantage by a particular piece of technology or tyre supplier, they've just build a rocketship of an F1 car, and execute each race well. And there's very little to dislike about the way their drivers race either. Hamilton and Bottas are both very clean.

Well said. No idea how Grosjean still has a seat, he just doesn't seem to be very good and is now resorting to tactics that Max was told off for when he was early on in his F1 career. Has Grosjean slipped back or is he just desperate?
Again KMag just doesn't seem great either.
Perez and Hulk would be good and might really push Haas forward.

Grosjean's place in F1 is one of the enigmas of our time, he had a good race 7 years ago and seems to have survived on that alone.

I think Grosjean got a lot of credit for helping fix the design direction of the 2019 Haas, when the team were struggling. Gene Haas apparently likes him too, even if his performances are suspect at times.

His quali performance today was pretty good to be fair to him, his consistency is terrible. He's still showing "potential" after however long in the sport.

You would think that is something that should have come out by now, if it's there!!!! He has had enough time to prove himself.
I think Haas need to try some different drivers. They are slipping backwards with current drivers. OK so they might not be the problem but Hulk and Perez have good experience so would be a good option. Plus Perez might bring in a few $$$$ and at least he is from North America, that's almost American :emoticon-0100-smile

I tried to ignore these, but I'm failing.

First off, Ron Dennis backing a black driver is not even close to being racist. If you think that then your failing to understand racism. White blokes are not discriminated against in this sport, have plenty of opportunity, and pretty much completely monopolize F1 as a whole. People have looked down on drivers from different backgrounds for years. Be it Asian, Indian or elsewhere. Let's not even start with women. Trying to suggest that one black man making it in to the sport is racism, Is clearly ludicrous. I can't figure if this is a joke or not.

Second. Seeing color is not racist, though claiming to be blind to it might be, as your ultimately ignoring the fact that there are people who's lives are simply more challenging just because the color of their skin is different.

Racism exists, wether we want to accept it or not, and It's only getting worse as people become more polarized, thanks to our inept leaders who point to others as the enemy to distract from from their rich backers taking all the wealth.

There was a period when Mercedes' race strategy was questionable, they weren't able to think on their feet.

Red bull and ferrari don't have the budget, resource, Hamilton or rule Assistance to catch up with Mercedes.

Mercedes have suffocated the sport and can't be beat until we have the level playing field. And even then they have positioned their chess piece Racing point to gain an early advantage.

If Mercedes don't sign up to the Concord agreement and leave then... I won't miss them. The race behind them is quite exciting at the moment and if that was for the lead then it would be brilliant.

Gasly - Kicked out of Red Bull into 'inferior' team.
Qualifies ahead of 1 Red Bull and 2 Ferrari's. That second Red Bull seat must be the best seat no one wants on the entire grid.

At closer look. All the upgrades are on Verstappens car. Albon gets the hand me downs. Gasly I presume gets the upgrades first at AT.

With challenging times in manufacturing and short gaps between races its not really a surprise that the 2nd drivers at all the teams are getting a bad deal.
