Dunno if it’s been mentioned elsewhere and I can’t be arsed to look but a mate sent me the following “Rumour has it that Brentford cannot get a safety certificate for their new ground because any safety test has to be done when it is at full capacity. Given the coronavirus pandemic, that won’t be possible for months to come. They therefore face the prospect of playing all their games behind closed doors, even when other teams can have fans back on a socially distanced basis.” Anyone else heard the same ?
The only thing that would make that more funny would be if they had won the play-off final and were in the PL, and couldn't get any of their fans in!
Another rumour is that they wouldn’t be able to go back to Griffin Park so it would be closed doors or ground share.......I’d like to hope we would tell them to **** off
Im sure the safety tests were done which is why capacity is lower than first planned. He thinks up to 4000 was lost. This from a Brentford supporting colleague.
Could be a nice opportunity for some much needed revenue. Not sure they’ll need 5500 without away fans though so maybe groundshare with Hayes.
I guess I’m alone but I have sympathy for the Bees. They are a well run club. Play usually entertaining football and on a limited budget, have achieved an awful lot. The shameful mismanagement of our club with its childish pi55ing away of tens, sorry hundreds of millions really shouldn’t allow schadenfreude.
I find it hard to find sympathy for any woes that befall them due to the fact the vast majority of their fans hate us and that cock of an announcer won’t even say our name. But that’s just me.....
